For Sea of Conquest players looking at their first SP hero, and spenders deciding which one gets the Conches. Checked October 2026.
Short answer: SP heroes are stronger versions of legendary heroes, with an SP Level, a talent tree and extra talent skills. They come from crossover events or rotating Conch banners. Build one at a time, aim for 6 stars, and never bench an SP hero for a regular one. Chien, Mari Itxaso and Cecilia Schafer rank highly on both big lists.

New SP heroes are the most watched topic in Sea of Conquest creator videos right now, from new SP captains to "was it worth it" awakening tests. They are also the most expensive heroes in the game. This guide covers how they work, which ones rank, and how to avoid wasting Conches on them.
What makes a hero SP
Treyex Gaming describes SP heroes as enhanced versions of legendary heroes: more skills, more stat choices and their own talent tree. AllClash puts it more bluntly: SP heroes are a lot stronger than regular legendaries, even awakened ones, and they are their own category.
How the SP Level works
- Talent EXP comes from Talent Tomes and raises the SP Level.
- Each SP Level gives 1 talent point to unlock or upgrade talents.
- Level 20: pick a class, Captain, First Mate or Gunner. Put the hero in the matching slot for an extra 10% attribute boost.
- Level 40: the first talent skill unlocks. You choose one effect from a set of options.
- Up to five talent skills in total, on top of the five normal skills.
- Restoration Stones reset talent points if you picked wrong.
Source: Treyex Gaming. AllClash's talent planner for SP heroes runs to 165 points, which shows how long the tree is.
The SP heroes ranked

| Chien | S+ | S |
| Mari Itxaso | S+ | S |
| Cecilia Schafer | S+ | S |
| Callahan Durrach | S+ | S |
| Sylvia Thorne | S+ | S (as Sylvia) |
| Fifi | S+ | A (as Fifi Chapeau) |
| Linae | S+ | A |

| Euryale | S+ | Not listed |
| Demona Rood | S+ | Not listed |
| Verdania | S+ | Not listed |
| Sigurd Eldsson | A+ | Not listed |
Sources: AllClash tier list, Pocket Gamer tier list. AllClash spells Linae as "Linea". Pocket Gamer ranks mainly on regular battles, so for naval play lean on AllClash.
AllClash also notes that SP heroes release in a fixed order on each server, so you will not see them all at once. New ones keep coming: creator videos in October 2026 show a new SP Artillery captain that is not on either list yet. Check your server before you plan around a name.
Where SP heroes come from
- Crossover events. Event SP heroes, like Mai and Jenet, come from crossover windows with no promise they return (Treyex).
- Conch banners. Other SP heroes appear on rotating Conch campaigns, and you can build them over several appearances.
Paid packs are the steadiest source of Hymn Conches, which pull on time-limited banners. See our Echo and Hymn Conch guide for every source.
What 6 stars costs
Treyex Gaming estimates about 218 badges, roughly 5 hero copies, to take an SP hero to 6 stars. That is one guide's estimate, not an official number, but it tells you the scale: an SP hero is a months-long project for most players.
Stars matter beyond the hero, too. In the Semaphore Station, an Order skill only reaches its top quality with three legendary SP heroes assigned, and its level follows the lowest star among them. More on that in our Semaphore Station guide.
Which SP hero first
- Fill your weakest ship. Chien fits a defensive Flagship plan. A Cutthroat ship wants Euryale or Fifi. Our best ship setups shows where each crew is short.
- Pick from the top of both lists. Chien, Mari Itxaso, Cecilia Schafer and Callahan Durrach rank highly on AllClash and Pocket Gamer.
- Match the class to the slot. The 10% bonus at Level 20 only applies in the matching seat. Decide the seat before you pick the class.
- Finish one before the next. Two half-built SP heroes lose to one finished one.
Common mistakes
- Spreading Conches over every new SP banner.
- Putting talent points in before deciding the hero's seat, then paying for a reset.
- Benching an SP hero for a higher-star regular legendary. AllClash's ship guides say never to do this.
- Chasing a crossover SP hero after the window closed.
For spenders and Gang leaders
- Plan one SP hero per stretch. Pick the hero, count the copies, and buy Conch packs for that banner only.
- Buy inside a recruit event. Week-long events often score hero recruits, so the same Conches can also climb a ranking.
- Coordinate SP picks in the Gang. Five players with the same SP Cutthroat hero leave the Gang without a tank. Agree who builds what.
- Use free sources too. Gift codes regularly include an Echo Conch. Check our codes list.
