Police Chief Beginner Guide (October 2026): Your First Week

For new Police Chief players, and for alliance leaders who want one link to send recruits. Checked October 31 2026.

Short answer: Start Police Chief by upgrading the Chief's Office, because it gates the rest of your precinct. Join an alliance, buy the second build queue before anything else, claim the weekly code from level 7, and build one strong hero line instead of many weak ones. Spend Diamonds on queues and VIP first.

Police Chief is a precinct management game. On the App Store it is rated 4.9 from 41K ratings. You build and arrange facilities, recruit and equip officers, interrogate suspects, manage inmates and put down prison riots. Your goal is to grow a run-down precinct into a major headquarters.

Here is what to do first, in order, and why.

Step 1: make the Chief's Office your main project

The Chief's Office gates the rest of the precinct. Its upgrades also unlock features. Level 7 opens the weekly codes. Level 10 is one of the entry rules for Alliance Mobilization. Upgrade it whenever the timer allows, and use specific speed-ups on other timers so your general speed-ups are free for the Chief's Office.

Step 2: get the second build queue

One queue means your precinct sits idle half the time. Our Diamond guide calls the second build queue the best first Diamond purchase in the game. It also shows why VIP 6 matters: it unlocks an extra queue.

Step 3: join an alliance early

Alliance events are where a precinct grows fastest. Alliance Mobilization, for example, needs an alliance of 15 members. Look for an active alliance in your state. Read our Alliance Mobilization guide before the first event, so you know how points work.

Step 4: claim the free rewards

• Redeem the weekly code on the Redeem Hub from Chief's Office level 7. See the codes page.
• Check the official Discord for events. Short themed events, like the Halloween Parade on Oct 29 and 30, are announced there.
• Look at the Weekly Benefit Pass and the Intel Monthly Pass. They give rewards over time.

Step 5: build one hero line, not many

Hero fragments are how heroes get stronger. Finish one priority hero before you spread fragments across many. A hero you finish is worth more than two you leave half built. Gear matters too. Common beginner mistakes

• Converting Diamonds into resources. Resources arrive passively and inside packs.
• Spreading hero materials over every new hero.
• Spending general speed-ups on short timers.
• Waiting until an event starts to buy a pack.
• Giving your password to a site that promises codes.

Your first-week checklist

• Day 1: follow the tutorial and push the Chief's Office.
• Day 2: join an alliance and check the official Discord.
• Day 3: get the second build queue.
• Day 4 to 5: reach Chief's Office level 7 and redeem the weekly code.
• Day 6 to 7: pick one hero line and stop spreading fragments.

For spenders and alliance leaders

• First buys. The second build queue, then VIP points, then targeted Lucky Wheel sessions. The Diamond guide has the reasoning.
• Packs over loose Diamonds. Many packs include Diamonds with hero fragments, gear materials and speed-ups. Compare what is inside before you buy.
• Leaders: pin this guide for recruits. A new member who has a queue plan, a code and an alliance in week one tends to stay.
• Timing. Buy before an event opens, not in the middle of it.
