The best Top Lords heroes to build right now are Charles Martel, Joan of Arc, Cleopatra, Ragnar, Frederick I and Edward. They give the most per upgrade: a team-wide attack boost, team-wide damage reduction, strong front rows and real boss damage. Build one full five-hero squad around two tanks before you spread shards across the rest of the roster.

This list ranks where your hero EXP and shards do the most work. It is not a win-rate chart. Stars, skill levels, gear and the faction mix of your squad all change the picture, and Top Lords adds heroes as servers get older. So treat it as a starting point, and check it again after each new hero.

How this Top Lords tier list works
Top Lords heroes come in three rarities: UR, SSR and SR. Every hero belongs to one of three factions, Tribe, Ranger or Legion, and plays one role: tank, damage or support. The tiers below only cover UR heroes, because those are the long-term investments.
- S tier: build these first. They help almost any squad.
- A tier: strong, but the value depends on your roster, your faction mix or your enemy.

Some heroes also appear as promoted UR versions of SSR heroes, like Lancelot, Bjorn, Amina and Aquilus. Their UR skills were not fully published when we checked, so we left them unrated.

Same-faction squads get faction buffs, so a squad that leans on one faction usually beats a random mix of strong names. Frederick I is the clearest case: his damage reduction gets better with more Legion heroes next to him.
Best Top Lords squad by mode
- Bosses and monsters: Charles Martel for team attack, Edward as main damage, and Ragnar or Cleopatra in front. Check the damage report and swap one hero at a time.
- Attacking other players: Mulan or Saladin to reach the enemy back row, with Ragnar or Sanada Yukimura holding the front.
- Garrison defense: Cleopatra for team damage reduction, with Ragnar and Frederick I up front.
- Vanguard: focused damage like Edward or Saladin against a single boss. Area damage like Boudica, Yi Sun-sin or Attila against groups.
Upgrade order that saves resources
- Finish one five-hero squad first. Two durable heroes in the front row, damage and support in the back.
- Level that squad to its cap before you touch the bench.
- Spend hero shards on heroes you actually field. Keep universal UR shards until you know your long-term squad.
- Check star requirements before you plan skill unlocks. Level alone is not enough.
- Fix the real problem. Tanks dying early means survival gear. A team that lives but cannot finish fights needs damage.
- Save recruitment tickets for events that reward recruiting, like Hero Development day in Alliance Duel.
Before you replace a hero, test both in the same squad with similar gear against the same target. A well-built A tier hero often beats a low-star S tier one.
When new heroes arrive
