For Sea of Conquest Gang leaders and officers who want a Gang that wins brackets, not just a Gang with big Power. Checked October 2026.
Short answer: A Sea of Conquest Gang leader sets the weekly rhythm: hold territory connected to the Gang Flag, keep Sentry Towers linked, run the Gang Auction, and plan Showdown o' Gangs fleet order. Recruit active members, assign damage types so fleets differ, and brief the Gang a week before every big event.

A Gang is Sea of Conquest's guild. It decides your turf, your teleports, your Showdown rewards and who helps you when a bigger fleet shows up. Most Gangs lose not from weak members, but from no plan. This guide is the weekly plan.
What your Gang gives members
| Feature | What it does | Source |
|---|---|---|
| First join reward | 100 Emeralds the first time a player joins a Gang | Pocket Gamer tips |
| Gang stash and donations | Donating to gangmates builds a Gang currency for rewards | Pocket Gamer tips |
| Gang Auction | Weekly dividends to members, with rare drops at times | BlueStacks |
| Turf and teleport | The Eye of the Sea teleports a member to Gang Turf or a gangmate once every 5 hours | Pocket Gamer guide |
| Gang Market | A stall that sells Echo Conches among other items | AppGamer |
| Showdown o' Gangs | Bracket event. Top 16 Gangs get rewards including Emeralds | GamingonPhone |
Tell new members about these on day one. A member who knows the Auction pays dividends logs in on Auction day.
Territory: the Gang Flag and Sentry Towers
Territory is where most new leaders make mistakes, because the rules are strict (BlueStacks):
- Members can only take Territorial Seas that connect fully to the building where the Gang Flag is raised.
- A Sentry Tower that does not connect fully to the Flag building is invalid.
- An invalid tower still counts toward the Gang's maximum Sentry Tower total. A badly placed tower wastes a slot.
So plan expansion as one connected line from the Flag. Assign one officer to approve tower spots before anyone builds. Holding ports also gives a gold bonus on goods sold there, which adds up across every member's trading. Check the port screen for the current rate.
The weekly rhythm
| When | Leader task |
|---|---|
| Start of week | Post the week's events and the Showdown date if it is coming |
| Auction day | Remind members to take part so dividends reach everyone |
| Mid week | Check territory links and approve new Sentry Tower spots |
| A week before Showdown | Briefing: who plays, formations set, hold pack budget |
| After each event | One review question: what would we order differently? |
Recruiting: who to bring in
- Activity over Power. A daily player who joins every Showdown is worth more than a big account that logs in twice a week.
- Fill damage types. If your top fleets are all Artillery, recruit Cutthroat, Blaze or Drowning players. Our Flagship formation guide explains what each type does.
- Give a first-day message. Parking rules, the 100 Emerald join reward, where to teleport, and our beginner guide for new players.
- Clear inactive members before Showdown. A slot held by someone who will not fight is a slot lost.
Running Showdown o' Gangs
After a team wins a battle in a Showdown match, the next team's damage goes up for that match. That makes fleet order the main lever. Send mid-tier fleets first to absorb the opponent's opening strength, then send your strongest fleets when the boost is high. Set the order before the match and do not change it for anyone's ego. Full detail is in our Showdown o' Gangs guide.
Keep the Gang's rosters different
The most costly Gang mistake is every top account building the same heroes. One counter then beats your whole top roster. Map who builds what, and assign damage types on purpose. The October 2026 S tier is long (Mamiya, Kalomira, Mari Itxaso, Long John Silver, Cecilia Schafer, Chien, Callahan Durrach and more on the Pocket Gamer list), so there is room for every member to build something useful and different. See our hero tier list.
For spenders and Gang leaders
- Know who spends. Ask your top spenders what they plan to buy this month. Point them to the damage type the Gang lacks.
- Hold budgets for Showdown. Speed-ups and packs used inside the event window build fleets and score at once.
- Before a hero banner: agree who goes for the featured hero and who skips. Five members chasing the same hero is money the Gang loses.
- Watch VIP 13. Magnus, a strong Flagship gunner, needs VIP 13. Members close to it may want to time their next purchase.
- More for leaders: our alliance leader page shows how Packsify works with Gangs.
