For Last Beacon: Survival rally captains, joiners and the leaders who set rally rules. Checked October 31 2026.
Short answer: In a Last Beacon rally, the rally captain brings three heroes with three skills each, so nine skills. The four highest-level heroes sent by joiners add their skills too, but only skills with a guaranteed effect. Skills that say "chance to" do not work in support, so send heroes like Ernest and Noah.
Most players think a rally is just more troops in one march. In Last Beacon it is also a skill check. The wrong heroes in the support slots add nothing, and nobody tells you in game.
The best explanation of the rule is the Rally Support guide by MIYAMOTO52 in the official Last Beacon Discord. It is the most liked guide in the community guide forum. Here is what it says, and how to use it.
How a rally adds up
| Part | What it brings | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| Rally captain | 3 heroes x 3 skills = 9 skills | All captain skills work as normal |
| Support heroes | Skills of the top 4 support heroes | Only the 4 highest-level support heroes count |
| Support skill rule | Flat, guaranteed effects only | Any skill with "chance to" does not activate |
MIYAMOTO52 adds one detail in the thread: it is the lead hero of each of the top four support members that activates. So a joiner's first hero is the one that matters.
Which support skills work
The guide shows clear examples. These are the kinds of skills that do work in support, because the effect is always 100%:
- All troops lethality +15%
- All troops defense +6%
- All troops HP +9%
- All troops HP +25%
These do not work in support, because they depend on a roll:
- A 24% chance to reduce damage taken by 50%
- An 8% chance to increase damage by 30%
- A 32% chance to deal an extra 50% damage
In a reply on Sep 11, MIYAMOTO52 shows a battle report where some support skills are marked as blocked. Those are the chance-based ones. If you want to check your own rally, look at the report for those blocked icons.
Good and bad support picks
In the guide's example, Noah and Ernest are good support heroes. Dylan and Colin are shown with chance-based skills that do not activate from support. A rally where all four top support heroes have guaranteed skills gets every buff. A rally where two of them have chance skills loses half its support value.
Ernest is named the best healer for support. His skill gives all troops +25% HP, and it always works.
One note on Colin. Our hero guide rates him first in G2 because his exclusive gear raises army lethality in rallies. That is a gear stat, not the support skill shown in the rally guide. So Colin can still be a strong rally hero while being a weak pick for the support slot. Test it in your own battle reports.
Joiner checklist
- Put a hero with a guaranteed skill first in your march. That is the one that counts.
- Level that hero. Only the four highest-level support heroes apply.
- Avoid sending heroes whose main skill starts with "chance to".
- If you have Ernest, send him. Healing that always works keeps the rally alive.
- Read the battle report after the rally and look for blocked skills.
For spenders and alliance leaders
- Level one support hero properly. Since only the four highest-level support heroes count, a joiner with one strong Ernest or Noah helps more than a joiner with many mid-level heroes.
- Buy hero growth for your support pick. If you buy hero packs, push the hero you send to rallies. Hero star-ups also score in Alliance Duel, see our Alliance Duel guide.
- Leaders: write the rule in alliance notes. One line is enough: first hero in your rally march must have a guaranteed skill, no "chance to" heroes in support.
- Leaders: pick fixed rally captains. The captain brings nine skills. Give the job to the members with the best built heroes, and ask the rest to support them.
- Leaders: use SvS and Pirate rallies to test. Check a battle report together after a rally. One screenshot teaches the rule faster than any message. See our SvS War Day guide.
