For Summoners War players who want to get the most out of the next collab. Checked November 3, 2026.
Short answer: Summoners War ran two collabs in 2026: The Lord of the Rings from January 29 to April 1, and Frieren: Beyond Journey's End from June 29 to September 1. Both used the same setup: a collab building, a Collab Pass with daily and weekly missions, an event dungeon, a daily Master X battle and a collab summon.
Collabs are limited windows with their own summons, so it pays to know how they work before the next one starts. The details below come from the official collab notice and the App Store update notes.

How a Summoners War collab works
Collab Pass and missions
You get Pass EXP from 3 daily and 5 weekly Collab Missions. Each Pass level unlocks a reward. In the Lord of the Rings collab, buying the Pass doubled the milestone rewards, added 5,000 Pass EXP and guaranteed prefix runes.
Event dungeon
Each collab had a dungeon with Normal, Hard and Hell difficulty. In the Lord of the Rings collab it reset every Monday, and clearing the Hell boss gave special weekly rewards.
Master X and the character trial
Master X is a daily rival battle with a team of collab characters, unlocked by a short quest. The Collab Character Trial lends you fully built collab characters to test. They cannot be mixed with your own monsters, but they show you who is worth summoning.
Collab summons
Collab characters come in awakened form. In the Lord of the Rings collab, a collab scroll summoned a 4 to 5 star collab character, a Special Summon raised collab rates across most summons, and normal summons could also give collab characters at a fixed chance. Blessings of Summon applied to collab characters.
Free rewards
A Collab Gift Sack or Gift Bundle gave a reward, with the next one ready 72 hours after you claimed it. For Frieren, event guides reported a free 5 star Water Himmel for finishing ten Collab Requests. Log in every few days during a collab so you do not miss these.
What happens after a collab
Collab summons end with the collab period, but Summoners War brings the monsters back in its own form later. Version 9.3.8 in late October lists the Frieren collab original monsters. Collab Transmogrifications were also added during both 2026 collabs, so watch the patch notes for those looks.
For spenders and alliance leaders
- Buy the Collab Pass early. Its paid track doubles milestone rewards and adds 5,000 Pass EXP, so it gives the most when you buy it in week one and finish every mission.
- Save Crystals before the collab. Collabs run about two months. Stock Crystals in the weeks before, then spend once the trial shows you which character fits your team.
- Collab special packs. During the Lord of the Rings collab, special collab products sat in Shop, Efficient, Special Pack for the same period. Check that tab on day one of the next collab.
- Guild leaders: during the Frieren collab, World Arena used collab characters as support monsters. Tell your guild which collab characters to test in the trial before they spend.
