Diamonds are the premium currency in Puzzles & Survival. You get some for free and buy the rest. The difference between a good and a bad Diamond plan is not how many you have. It is what you spend them on and when.
Here is where Diamonds come from, the best uses, and the mistakes to avoid.
Where free Diamonds come from
- Codes. The newest codes on Pocket Gamer give 300 to 666 Diamonds each. Full list in our codes list.
- Main chapter missions. They give premium currency along with heroes and resources (BlueStacks).
- Mail and Bag. Official emails can carry rewards. Check both every day (Pocket Gamer tips).
- Diamond mines. In Valiant Conquest you can gather diamond mine resources in other states and in your own (AppGamer).
Best ways to spend Diamonds

How to time Diamond spend
Diamond Expert and the Diamond Exchange Shop often run together. That makes them the best window for any big Diamond spend: the shop gives the items, and Diamond Expert adds rewards on top. Hold Diamonds you do not need right away until that window comes.
For Distress Signal, High Ground Gaming suggests saving 450 signals, because using 9 at a time gives 10. If you plan to buy signals with Diamonds, buy them while the event is live and use them in sets of 9.
How players waste Diamonds
- Small refills. AP refills at 1 every 6 minutes. Paying Diamonds to skip a short wait is rarely worth it.
- Speeding up short builds. Free alliance help often covers them. Ask for help first.
- Spending outside Diamond Expert. The same spend a few days later can score event rewards.
- Random draws on a whim. Doomfest and Joy 777 coins come from daily quests. Use those, not Diamonds, unless you are chasing one item.
A simple Diamond plan
- Redeem every code.
- Buy the extra build queue.
- Keep enough for one shield.
- Save the rest for Diamond Expert and the Exchange Shop.
Diamonds vs recruit tokens
Free recruits are the best-value hero source in the game, because they cost no Diamonds. Pocket Gamer values a 10x pull at 500 Diamonds and advises saving tokens until you can do a 10x pull. So before you spend Diamonds on summons, use every free recruit and stack the tokens.
Diamonds for alliance and war
Diamonds also matter in alliance play. In Valiant Conquest, players can gather diamond mine resources in other states for up to 4 hours, and defend their own mines from invaders (AppGamer). In war weeks, a shield before going offline protects a full base. Keep a small Diamond reserve for that, even when you are saving for Diamond Expert.
A note on Diamond value
The more Diamonds you buy, the more timing matters. A big Diamond buy spent on a quiet day gets only the items. The same Diamonds spent during Diamond Expert also climb the event reward tiers.
The same rule works for codes: redeem them early, but hold the Diamonds until a window where spending them pays twice. Your Diamond balance is a tool for events, not a score to grow.
For spenders and alliance leaders
- Buy Diamonds before Diamond Expert opens. Then the whole event window is about what to buy, not payments.
- Diamonds vs packs: Diamonds are flexible, but a pack built for your goal often gives more of what you need. Compare both in our best packs guide.
- Leaders: remind members before war weeks to keep Diamonds for shields. A rebuilt base costs more than a shield.
