For Foundation: Galactic Frontier players on servers 1017 to 1112, and guild leaders planning the first weeks of Season 2. Checked October 31, 2026.
Short answer: Season 2, The Usurper, opens on November 9 2026 (UTC) for servers 1017 to 1112, per the official announcement. Pre-download and a preview run from November 2 to 8. Use the week before to save speed-ups and upgrade items, push at least one fleet to T7, and plan for the magnetic storms, which punish fleets with low resistance.

Season 2 is not new to everyone. Servers 1001 to 1016 have played it since September 14, so players on those servers already know how the first weeks go, and their reports shape the plan on this page.

What Season 2 adds
- Siwenna. The season sets course for a new region hit by magnetic storms. Storms lower your fleet's combat strength until your resistance is high enough.
- Storm resistance. Launch coverage describes resistance buildings at your main base, upgraded with resources you collect by staying active.
- Ascendancy Court. A new enemy faction led by a self-proclaimed Emperor.
- New events. The October 20 patch notes added Season 2 planet exploration events. Launch coverage lists Aromabloom Trade War, a guild PvE event, and one creator's prep video adds a tower defense and a boss rush event.
The 6,000 resistance line
The number players talk about most is 6,000. Players in the official Discord report that accounts which do not buy reach about 5,700 magnetic resistance, while the final system and the Sacred Tribute Vessels ask for 6,000. Players report that falling 300 short roughly halves the damage you deal. One creator says the weekly pass covers the last 300.
FunPlus has not confirmed these numbers in the patch notes. Treat them as a warning, not a rule, and check the resistance screen in your first days of the season.
How the first weeks run
One creator's Season 2 prep video, based on the first servers, describes this rhythm:
- The first three weeks run only the Top 100 event.
- After that, GvG and Top 100 alternate.
- Later in the season, SvS and GvG run in a cycle.
- Top 100 stays server-only, not cross-server.
If that matches your server, the first three weeks are where staged speed-ups, Breakthrough materials and champion upgrades score the most. Our events guide covers how the event scores.
Prep checklist for the week before
- Stop using speed-ups on idle timers. Hold them for the first Top 100 week.
- Get at least one T7 combat craft. The same creator names one T7 as a baseline. The October 27 patch notes also improved the T7 models.
- Look at total power across your three ships. The creator puts about 500,000 total power as the line where you can beat the Ascendancy and help port your hub to the guild. Treat it as one estimate.
- Redeem FGF1stAnniv before November 7. See the codes list.
- Watch the season group view from November 5. It tells you which servers you will fight.
- Max the outlined Fusion Seed researches. Players report Fusion Seeds as a bottleneck, and the Epoch of Fusion Seed research now unlocks at 40% of Combat Craft Modification (September 22 patch notes).
For spenders and alliance leaders
- Weekly pass: decide before November 9. If the 6,000 resistance line holds as players report, it decides whether you hit the final system and the Sacred Tribute Vessels at full damage.
- Packs for the first Top 100 week: buy them in the days before November 9 and open them inside the event, so their speed-ups and upgrades count as points too.
- Monthly cards: start them before the season so their daily rewards stack through the first weeks. Our Black Card and Monthly Pass guide shows how to judge them.
- Leaders: use the group view (November 5 to 8) to see your opponents, then list which members expect to reach 6,000 resistance and who has a T7. Build Sacred Tribute Vessel rallies around them, and tell members not to push past each other in Top 100 so more of the guild reaches the top reward tiers, which one creator recommends.
