Quick answer
Battle of Gaugamela (BoG) is a weekly Evony alliance battlefield. Top 20 alliances register up to 20 players on Tuesday, then fight two-hour matches from Wednesday. Hold portals for teleports, take the towers and hospital, kill troops and bosses for points. Killed troops heal after the event, so join every week.
For R4 and R5 leaders and core rally players in Evony alliances that make the top 20. Checked October 31, 2026.

BoG is back in the conversation. In late October 2026 alliances are posting BoG matches on YouTube, and some players are asking Evony to shorten the two-hour matches.

Below are the rules and tables from the most complete fan guide we found, plus a simple plan for leaders. The guide was last updated in 2024, so check your event screen for any changes.

To enter, use the Battlefield building when your slot starts. You cannot have wounded troops or marches out. Late entry is allowed.

The map buildings

BuildingCountEffect
Portal4Hold 30 seconds for 1 alliance teleport back
Blessing Tower2+20% alliance attack and defense
March Tower1+50% alliance march speed to monsters, -30% enemy march speed
Battlefield Hospital1+60% alliance healing speed

Each alliance starts with 40 shared teleports. Portals are the only way to get more. You cannot teleport into the enemy start area.

How scoring works

Holding buildings gives 16 points per minute per building. Reinforcers get 20% of that for their personal score only.

Killing enemy troops scores per 1 million troops killed:

Troop tierPoints per 1MTroop tierPoints per 1M
T12.2T960.0
T417.8T12100.0
T633.3T14133.3
T851.1T16177.8

Boss monsters respawn on timers. Small ones like Skeleton or Werewolf give 1 point every 5 minutes. Kamaitachi, Fafnir and Behemoth give 8 every 10 minutes. The Phoenix gives 35 every 15 minutes. Rally joiners get 20% for personal score.

Troops, healing and protection

  • Troops killed in BoG are healed after the event. You may need to restart the game to see them.
  • Healing during BoG costs normal resources. The Battlefield Hospital cuts healing time by 60%.
  • Generals cannot be wounded and they gain experience.
  • Troops in Subordinate Cities can die and are not healed. Traps are used up and not repaired.
  • Keep bubbles do not work in BoG. Ghosting with dummy rallies is how players protect troops.
  • Your home Keep gets a red bubble that blocks same-server attacks while you are inside.

Common BoG mistakes

  • Entering with wounded troops or marches out. The game will not let you in, and you lose minutes.
  • Leaving portals empty. Without teleports, your hunters cannot reach the towers.
  • Chasing small bosses while the enemy holds both Blessing Towers.
  • Sending your whole army into one fight with no one left to hold buildings.
  • Forgetting that Subordinate City troops can die for real.

Rewards

Personal rewards pay win or lose, more for a win. At 1,800+ personal points a win pays 300 Badges, 550 Dragon Crystals and 220 Tactic Scrolls; a loss pays 240, 450 and 180. Alliance score adds Dragon Crystals: 60 above 2,500 points. A personal top 100 finish for the season gives the Glory Strategy Expert title with Purple Wings and the Ring of Fafnir.

Dragon Crystals go to the battlefield shop or dragons. The shop also sells 5-minute boosts: +75% attack, defense or HP for 9,000 gems each, or +300% march size for 25,000 gems.

For spenders and alliance leaders

The plan that works is roles, set before the match:

  1. Portal team: two or three players who only take and hold portals. Teleports win BoG.
  2. Hunters: your strongest attackers, who hit enemy marches on towers and the hospital.
  3. Boss team: players who rally Phoenix and the 8-point bosses on timer.
  4. Everyone: ghost when a big enemy teleports in. Do not feed kills.

Spenders: the gem boosts are short and costly. Use the +75% boosts only for a planned fight at a key tower, not at random. Speed-ups for healing matter more over a two-hour match. Teleport items come from your own bag, so stock up before the season.

Register 20 players every week even when you expect to lose. Rewards pay on a loss and generals gain experience. Use our alliance leader guide and the alliance leader page to plan the rest of your week.
