Battle of Constantinople, or BoC, is a weekly alliance battle. Per the fan guide it feeds a season ranking, and it rewards the alliances that organise well.

We could not confirm the current October schedule or season, and the fan guide we use is undated. Numbers below say "per fan guide" for that reason. Check your in-game event screen for the current rules.

Who can enter

The onechilledgamer BoC guide lists these entry rules:

  • The alliance is 15 or more days old.
  • The alliance is among the top 20 by power.
  • The player has been in the alliance for 3 or more days.
  • The player has Keep level 15 or higher.

R4 and R5 officers register the roster. The guide says they can register up to 20 players. Everyone else watches, which is why registration is the first job for a leader.

Where the points come from

Building control is the whole game. The guide lists Constantinople itself at 80 points a minute, the Knight's Hall at 32, and the other buildings at 16. Do the math: holding the main building for ten minutes is worth as much as holding a smaller one for fifty.

So the plan is simple. Take the main building and defend it. Everything else is a way to keep the enemy busy.

Leagues and rewards

The same guide lists the Chalons leagues as Major for the top 256, Elite for ranks 257 to 1,280, and Junior for 1,281 and below. An older Pocket Gamer Chalons guide (Sep 14 2022) agrees on the three leagues, says Major means the top 256 per continent, and says the top 100 get the Alliance Glory Castle. That is old, so read it for the idea, not for today's rewards.

For the league side, read our Battle of Chalons T15 alliances guide. For the prep side, read Chalons battlefield prep.

A simple battle plan

This part is our own view, not a rule from the game. A BoC slot is short, so the plan has to be short too.

  • Before the slot: everyone on the roster is online, in the right place, with troops ready. Use the 5 minutes of prep to check this, not to start.
  • Minutes 1 to 10: take the main building with one strong group. The listed 80 points a minute is worth more than any side fight.
  • The middle: hold the main building and rotate healers. Send small groups to the Knight's Hall only if the main building is held.
  • The last 20 minutes: stop chasing kills. Protect what you hold.

Common mistakes

  • Registering players who cannot be online for the full two hours.
  • Moving the whole roster at once, then finding no one left to defend.
  • Spending on troops after the battle started.
  • Not telling the rest of the alliance what their job is.

Watch a BoC in action

MrYours, a Packsify creator partner, posted a BoC video from his server: Evony - BoC [EVL] S529 Vs [EVA] S949. It is about a year old, but it shows how two alliances handle a real match.

For spenders and alliance leaders

What to prepare before BoC.

  • Roster first. Pick the 20 players before anyone buys anything. A pack for a player who is not registered is wasted.
  • Troops and healing for the registered 20. These are the players who will take the fight, so they are the ones to support.
  • Teleport plan. The guide says 40 teleports. Decide who moves, when, and to which side of the map.
  • Rest of the alliance. Give them jobs too: reinforcement, scouting and calling targets in chat.

What to tell the alliance. Post the time slot, the registration deadline, and the 20 names in one message. Tell the rest of the alliance how they help. Players who feel left out stop logging in.

What to buy, and when. Buy before the registration closes, so the 20 players have their troops ready for the 5-minute prep. Look at the pack contents first. Our spending plan by budget shows how to pick a pack for your budget, and the alliance leader guide covers the officer side. Leaders can also see the Packsify alliance leader page.
