For Avatar: Realms Collide players deciding where to put shards and badges, from free players to alliance leaders who lead rallies. Checked October 2026.
Short answer: In Avatar: Realms Collide, spenders should build Kyoshi first for her rally leader buff, then Iroh. Free players should start with Iroh. For Epics, build Toph, then Asami and Sokka. Keep one element per march, max one skill at a time starting with the rage skill, and skip Azula unless you plan to climb VIP.

Players in the official Discord asked for an updated tier list twice in the last week of October. Most tier lists online are from spring 2025, before many of the newer heroes. So this guide does two things. It shows the classic ranking, and then it shows the build order that matters more: who to max first, and what it costs.
One note before you start. Heroes come from the Altar of Heroes. Rare heroes have up to 4 skills, Epic and Legendary heroes have 5, and every hero has a rage skill that fires on its own when the rage bar fills (BlueStacks). Legendaries have the strongest abilities, but they also cost the most to finish.
The classic tier list
This is the Gamezebo ranking from April 2025. It is old, and it does not include heroes added since, like Ty Lee, Jetsun, Kelsang or Rangi. Use it for the core roster, not for the newest banners.
| Tier | Heroes | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| S | Aang, Korra, Kyoshi, Iroh, Bumi | Worth getting and upgrading |
| A | Azula, Lin Beifong, Toph, Tenzin, Teo, Sokka, Asami Sato | Useful in most setups |
| B | Zuko, Katara, Suki, Borte, Kuvira, Unalaq | Fine, but behind A and S |
| C | Meelo, Yue, Kuei, Piandao | Swap out for combat (they still have gathering jobs) |
Who to build first
The creator ALRCintern posted a hero strategy video for new players in mid 2026 that splits the advice by budget. This is the part most tier lists skip.
| Player type | First Legendary | Second | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spender (about 5 to 1,000 USD) | Kyoshi | Iroh | As rally leader, Kyoshi adds 15% skill damage to the whole rally. It only works when she leads. |
| Free player | Iroh | Not named | ALRCintern's first pick for players who do not spend. |
For Epics, ALRCintern puts Toph first, then Asami, then Sokka. All three are in Gamezebo's A tier too, so the two sources agree.
What maxing a hero costs
Numbers from the same ALRCintern video:
| Goal | Cost |
|---|---|
| Max all skills on one hero | 720 badges |
| Star up from 5 to 6 stars | 360 shards |
| All stars up to 6 in total | 956 shards |
That is why spreading resources hurts. 956 shards on one Legendary is a lot of summons. In our view, one finished hero does more for you than two half-built ones.
Skill order: one skill at a time
ALRCintern's rule is simple. Max one skill at a time and start with the rage skill. The rage skill fires automatically when the bar fills, so it shapes every fight. Passives come after.
Keep one element per march
A full Legendary march of one element beats a mixed march. Earth and water marches also carry more defense and health, so ALRCintern notes they cost less to heal. Players in the Discord say the same thing in their own words, for example asking for Kuvira, Lin and King Bumi to finish an earth march.
The Azula question
Azula is the one Legendary you cannot get for free. ALRCintern says her shards come only from VIP boxes, about 250 USD in total through VIP 0 to 10. What you get is the highest early bender capacity of any hero. If you plan to climb VIP anyway, she comes along. If not, skip her and put your effort into Iroh or Kyoshi.
How new heroes arrive
New Legendaries come through two recurring banners: the Greatest Leader event and the Wheel of Fate. ALRCintern says the cycle runs about every 6 weeks in a fixed order, so older heroes do come back.
The game's roadmap, posted on its official Discord on July 21 2026, listed:
| Window | Greatest Leader | Wheel of Fate |
|---|---|---|
| July | Mad King Bumi | Sapphire Fire Katara |
| August | Kelsang | Rangi |
| September to October | Yun | Varrick |
Players in the Discord reported Varrick on the Greatest Leader event on October 30, so the order can shift. Check the event tab in game before you save for a hero.
What players argue about right now
The October talk in the official Discord centres on Arena leads. In one long thread, a player reported that an Ozai lead won a test by a wide margin where a Jetsun lead lost, and top players were testing Jetsun, Opal and Kelsang with maxed bracelets. Players also point out that leader buffs stop when the leader dies. These are player reports, not official numbers, but they show where the meta is moving: air heroes and new accessories.
Rangi also gets attention. Players expect her to be strong in Arena and note that she sat on the Wheel of Fate, which makes her easier to get than a Greatest Leader hero.
A build plan by budget
- Free player: Iroh first. Then Toph, Asami and Sokka as your Epic core. Keep your march in one element.
- Light spender: Kyoshi first if you lead rallies, otherwise Iroh. Spend only when a hero you want is on the Greatest Leader event or Wheel of Fate.
- Heavy spender: Kyoshi, then Iroh, then a full march of one element. Azula comes with VIP if you climb it.
For spenders and alliance leaders
- Save before the banner, not during it. New Legendaries come in a fixed cycle. Watch the roadmap and the event tab, and have your Gems and budget ready the day the hero you want appears.
- Finish one hero at a time. 720 badges for skills and 956 shards for stars is a big bill. Paying for half of two heroes wastes both.
- Rally leaders: Kyoshi's 15% skill damage buff applies to the whole rally only when she leads. If you are the alliance's main rally leader, she is the priority.
- Tell the alliance: agree on one element per member's main march, so reinforcements and healing stay efficient. Point new members to our beginner guide.
