Avatar: Realms Collide is a 4X strategy game from Tilting Point. You pick a nation, build a city, train benders in four elements, collect heroes from the Avatar shows and fight with an alliance on a shared world map.

The first week decides how fast you grow. Here is what to do, in order, and why.

Step 1: pick your nation

There are four nations. Each starts with one hero and gives its own bonuses (BlueStacks):

NationStarting heroBonuses
EarthTophFaster construction, faster gathering, Earthbender attack
WaterKataraFaster research, faster healing, Waterbender attack
FireZukoFaster construction, faster recruitment, Firebender attack
AirTenzinFaster research, faster marching, Airbender attack

BlueStacks recommends Earth for new players, because faster building and gathering help most in the first weeks. You can switch later as your plan changes.

Step 2: follow the chapter tasks

The chapter task list is your roadmap. It walks you through buildings, research and goals in a sensible order, and finishing a chapter gives a resource reward and opens new features. Do not rush hero summons or the world map before the tasks point you there.

Step 3: keep all four resources level

ResourceBuildingMain use
WoodSawmillMost construction and training
FoodFarmTraining and keeping troops
StoneMineBuilding upgrades
GoldRefineryHigh-level upgrades and hero recruitment

Do not spam one building type. BlueStacks says gold becomes especially valuable later, and the creator ALRCintern calls stone the early bottleneck. Level all four and research the Research Lab nodes that raise production or cut timers.

Step 4: train all four elements

Each element has its own troop building: Tunnel of Earth, Flame Hall, Wind Temple and Water Pavilion. Higher troop tiers open through the Research Lab. BlueStacks advises keeping all four buildings training in batches you can afford, so none sits idle.

Step 5: pick your first heroes

Heroes come from the Altar of Heroes with Silver and Golden Scrolls. Early pulls are mostly lower rarity. Two rules matter most:

  • Build one element. A march of one element beats a mixed one, and earth or water marches cost less to heal (ALRCintern).
  • Build deep, not wide. Do not feed shards to every hero you pull. Save them for heroes you will keep.

For who to build, read our best heroes guide. The short version from ALRCintern: Toph first among Epics, then Asami and Sokka, and Iroh as the first Legendary for free players.

Step 6: set up your gatherers

The Rare heroes that sit low on tier lists still have a job. ALRCintern names one gatherer per resource:

ResourceGatherer hero
FoodKuei
WoodMeelo
StonePiandao
GoldYue

Max the skill that raises the amount gathered first. Start with Piandao, since stone is the usual bottleneck. Send gatherers to farms, mines and gold veins on the world map, and watch out for Shattered Skulls, the NPC enemies that also drop loot and XP.

Step 7: join an alliance on day one

An alliance gives protection, reinforcements, tech boosts and help that cuts build and research timers. It also opens events you cannot play alone. BlueStacks says to join early, even a casual alliance. Tap help for others too. It costs nothing.

Step 8: claim the free rewards

  • Redeem the working code from our codes and free Gems page.
  • Join the official social channels and visit the official website. GamingonPhone lists 100 Gems for each.
  • Push your Town Hall. Each level gives Gems, and GamingonPhone saw 300 at Town Hall 14 and 400 at the next level.
  • Play Avatar Trail, the auto-battle stage mode, after each upgrade. Set your formation first and let the heroes fight.
  • Check your inbox and the event tabs. BlueStacks notes the game sometimes sends free bundles around maintenance and updates.

Your first-week checklist

  • Day 1: pick Earth, finish the tutorial, follow chapter tasks and join an alliance.
  • Day 2: build and level all four resource buildings. Claim the social and website Gems.
  • Day 3: start the Research Lab on production and timer nodes. Keep all four troop buildings training.
  • Day 4: pick your main element and your first three heroes. Stop feeding the rest.
  • Day 5: put Kuei, Meelo, Piandao and Yue on gathering. Piandao first.
  • Day 6 and 7: push the next Town Hall level, clear Avatar Trail stages and help your alliance every time you log in.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Leveling one resource building and ignoring the others.
  • Feeding shards to every new hero instead of one element.
  • Skipping the alliance for the first days.
  • Leaving troop buildings idle between batches.

For spenders and alliance leaders

  • Plan before you buy. Read the best heroes guide first, so your first purchases go to heroes you will keep. Azula is the only Legendary tied to VIP boxes, at about 250 USD through VIP 0 to 10 per ALRCintern.
  • Leaders: pin this guide for recruits. Ask new members to pick one element and join on day one.
  • Keep the roster clean. The game's Discord announced that dormant leaders can be deleted after 6 or more months offline, with no purchases and a Town Hall of 6 or below. Inactive low accounts may disappear from your member list on their own.
  • Bring people back. Players who have been away 7 days or more unlock a returning player event (NickALive).
