Common Emerald mistakes
- Speeding up builds that finish overnight. Let the clock run while you sleep.
- Spreading Emeralds over many heroes. Put them into the core you are building. Our hero tier list helps you choose.
- Spending before an event. Speed-ups used in a scoring window also give event points. Wait if an event is a day away.
Emeralds vs Gold and Supplies
Gold and Supplies are the everyday currencies. Gold comes from trading, dishes, drinks and events, and pays for ship upgrades. Supplies keep your sailors happy and your ship sailing. Emeralds sit above both. They can buy what Gold cannot, such as Conches and skill upgrades, and they can replace time. That is why they are worth guarding.
Emeralds on a new server
The first weeks give the most Emeralds per hour, because every first-time reward is still open. Clear Trials, cook each recipe once, join a Gang, and log in for Azure Promise. Then save. A stack of Emeralds when your first priority hero shows up at the Dock Merchant is worth far more than a dozen small speed-ups spent on day two.
For spenders and Gang leaders
- Compare offers by Emeralds per dollar. The store shows what each one gives, so do the math once and buy the best one first.
