For new Last Fortress: Underground players, and for alliance leaders who want one link for recruits. Checked October 2026.
Short answer: Upgrade the Control Center first, since other areas stay locked until it grows. Max your first APC and main lineup before building a second, join an alliance early, hold your Diamonds, and delay upgrading Solari heroes until your facilities reach level 16 to 20.

LastFortGuide is an unofficial fan guide. Its pages show "last updated 13.09.2026" for game version 26.0901.001. We also use a 2022 GamingonPhone guide, but only for basics that the 2026 guide confirms.
Here is what to do, in order, and why.
1. Control Center first
GamingonPhone calls the Control Center the top priority, because other areas stay locked or cannot be upgraded until it improves (GamingonPhone, 2022). Keep the research lab busy too. Some areas cannot be excavated without certain technologies. Exploring and excavating early unlocks new areas.
2. Max your first APC
LastFortGuide says there are four APCs, and the fourth unlocks at VIP 10 (tips page). Fully upgrade the first APC before the others. Level your main lineup heroes to at least level 70 before you build a second lineup, and save your main lineup in each APC for when the first one runs out of durability.
3. Join an alliance early
An alliance gives you city captures, the contribution shop, help when you are attacked or rallying mutants, and bonus crates. Contributing takes little time. If your alliance is dead, ask on the map, watch World Chat or move to a zone with more active alliances. Alliances open after the 6th day (Pocket Gamer 2022).
4. Delay Solari hero upgrades
Wait until you reach at least 5,000 memento coins a day and your facilities are level 16 to 20. Going above level 50 on a Solari hero is not worth it, except for Wolowitz, Pearson, Christine, McKinley and Cecilia. Our production heroes guide lists the workstations.
5. Reach T5 troops quickly
T5 units let you attack stronger bases and mutants, raise CP and increase load. Train T10 once other players unlock it. The guide notes that an update cut the T10 iron training cost from 1,350 to 190 iron.
Your daily routine (1 to 2 hours)
- Turret: about 20 uses per day.
- Trade: 3 free per day, or 8 with diamond refills.
- Rally 5 mutated zombies and 4 special ones.
- Arena: 6 battles for dog tags. 280 tags buy the Selectable Elite Hero Card.
- Infinity Arena: 5 battles for APC parts. Summit Arena: 5 battles for medals.
- One expedition a day and radar missions at least twice a day.
- Gear production, War Beast training, exploration and alliance missions.
Mistakes to avoid
- Spending Diamonds on progress you can get free early (GamingonPhone).
- Opening Resource and Mutated Zombie chests too soon. Boxes cannot be plundered, so use only what you need. Open them after 45 elite gear chests from Expedition.
- Using elite hero shards on other heroes. Recycle them or use them on the same hero.
- Leaving facility confirmations on. Turn them off in Profile, General Settings.

Gathering heroes
Heroes with a Gather trait add 100 to lineup load. The guide's primary squad is David, Park Ji-Mi, Loong, Irma and Matthew. Evolve them to orange to unlock their third skill. David adds gathering speed and troop load, Park Ji-Mi and Matthew add gathering speed, and Loong and Irma add troop load. This is a free way to raise income.
Zombie Raid
Zombie Raid has 30 waves. Aiding allies gives you points, but the aided player gets fewer. Watch the combat logs and pull troops back after a couple of dozen KIA. From S3 and S4 on, aid only when asked.
Alliance Duel in one list
The tips page gives the six-day idea in a few lines. Day 1 gathering: save gathering boosts. Day 2 construction: save stone, iron and speed-ups. Day 3 research: save energy, z-coins and lab speed-ups. Day 4 recruitment: save combat recruitment tokens and faction cards. Day 5 training: save training speed-ups. Day 6: invade and capture cities, and save Bulletproof Carports and medicine. The full scoring is in our Alliance Duel guide.
For spenders and alliance leaders
- Know your first buys. LastFortGuide lists the $1 First Top-Up (Quinn) and the $10 N.A.T.E. as the first two buys. Read the best packs to buy guide before you spend more.
- Plan VIP. The fourth APC needs VIP 10. Buy packs that carry VIP points rather than random bundles.
- Leaders: send new members this guide, then the Alliance Duel guide. Members who know what to save for each day are the ones who keep you in the top 30.
