For King of Avalon players deciding which new heroes get their resources. Checked October 2026.
Short answer: King of Avalon added three Elemental hero sets in 2026: Light (version 24.1.0, June), Earth (24.4.0, July) and Dark (24.8.0, September). Each set has one Garrison hero and three combat heroes, one per troop type. Field all three for a Bond skill, and add the Deity for a Divine skill.

Elemental heroes were the biggest hero change of 2026 in Frost & Flame: King of Avalon. Three sets arrived in four months, each with its own Bond, its own Divine skill and its own gear or materials around it.
Below is every hero in each set, what the skills are called, which troop type each hero leads, and how to plan your build without wasting resources.
How an Elemental hero set works
Every set follows the same pattern in the official update notes:
- One Garrison hero who defends your city.
- Three combat heroes: one Infantry, one Cavalry and one Bowmen. One of the three is marked Divine Favor.
- A Bond skill when all three combat heroes of the set fight together.
- A Divine skill when the Deity joins those three.
So one hero alone is only part of the value. The set is built to be used together.

Light Elemental heroes (24.1.0)
The first set arrived on June 10, 2026. Jeanne holds the Garrison. Calin leads Infantry, Hippolyta leads Cavalry and carries Divine Favor, and Vera leads Bowmen. The same update added the Lost Relics Medusa's Head and Scales of Life.
Earth Elemental heroes (24.4.0)
The Earth set came on July 22, 2026. Toran is the Garrison hero. Perseus leads Infantry with Divine Favor, Mina leads Cavalry and Selene leads Bowmen. This update also brought Draconic Stones, made with Draconic Condensed Core, and new runes for the Infinite Realms Dragon King.
Dark Elemental heroes (24.8.0)
The Dark set came with the 10th anniversary update on September 16, 2026. Valerius is the Garrison hero. Pandora leads Bowmen with Divine Favor, Morvane leads Cavalry and Kelgar leads Infantry. Duskshadow Equipment arrived in the same update, with Soul Lantern Stone as its material.
How to plan your build
- Start from your main troop type. Each set has one Divine Favor hero, and each one leads a different troop: Hippolyta (Cavalry), Perseus (Infantry), Pandora (Bowmen). Most players already lean on one troop type. Start with the set that fits it.
- Finish one set before starting the next. The Bond skill needs all three combat heroes. Three heroes from three sets give you no Bond at all.
- Do not forget the Garrison hero. Jeanne, Toran and Valerius defend your city. If you get hit often, the Garrison hero matters as much as the combat heroes.
- Check the Deity. The Divine skill only works with the Deity in the lineup. Plan for it before you count on that skill.
- Budget for the gear around the set. Each set came with new gear or materials. Dark came with Duskshadow Equipment, so the heroes are only part of the cost.
What about older heroes and Merlin?
The 10th anniversary brought back mythical heroes through the Mythical Heroes Return event, and FunPlus said Merlin can now be collected and used in battle. Older heroes still matter while you build a set. Do not drop a hero you have fully built just because a new set came out.
For spenders and alliance leaders
- Buy for one set at a time. Packs that give heroes for three different sets spread your spend thin. One full set with its Bond does more than three half sets.
- Time it with the update. New sets have come about every six to eight weeks this year. Watch our updates 2026 page so you know when the next one lands.
- Tell the alliance what to build. If your alliance leans on one troop type in rallies, ask members to finish the matching set first. Complete sets with their Bond skills are what the sets are built for.
- Use free rewards first. Redeem every official code in our King of Avalon codes list before you spend.
