Infinite Borders Beginner Guide: Your First Week (2026)

Short answer: Infinite Borders is NetEase's Three Kingdoms strategy game with more than 300 heroes. In your first week: pick your faction and start area with care, choose a playstyle (fighter, farmer, diplomat or spy), work through Daily Affairs, join an active alliance early, and claim the free anniversary 5-star hero.

Infinite Borders has run for 11 years and calls itself one of the most popular strategy games in East Asia. You play a lord in the Three Kingdoms era next to heroes like Liu Bei, Cao Cao and Lu Bu. The game facts below come from the official listing and notes. Tips marked as community advice come from what experienced players tell new members.

Day 1: faction and start area

Community guides say each region has faction specials, such as higher lumber and food yields or extra starting coins, and that your start area sets your base location and your neighbours. Two simple rules: pick a faction whose special helps the playstyle you want, and if friends already play, start near them. Moving later is harder than starting right.

Pick a playstyle

The listing names four ways to play:

• Fighter: lead troops, take land, join every war call.
• Farmer: build your city and resources and feed the war effort.
• Diplomat: deal with other alliances and lords.
• Spy: scout and gather intel for your side.

You can change your mind later, but your first week goes faster with one clear goal.

Daily Affairs: your checklist

Community guides describe Daily Affairs as the core city loop: progress toward level 1 lands, upgrade castle facilities and build residences. Do these every day before anything else. A stronger city means more troops and more resources for every playstyle.

Heroes: fewer, better

There are more than 300 heroes. New players often spread resources across too many. Pick a small core you get early, level them, and only add a hero when it clearly fits. Right now the anniversary gives two permanent 5-star picks for free: the login hero and the Memory Scroll card. Claim both before you spend Jade on heroes.

Read every battle report

After each battle you get a report that, per community guides, points out how to make troops and heroes stronger, and you can replay the fight. Losing a battle and reading the report teaches more than winning an easy one.

Join an alliance in week one

Alliances give events, rewards, Jade and shared fights, and experienced players who answer questions. Pick an active one: members online, chat moving, clear war calls. A quiet alliance wastes your first week.

Seasons and the anniversary

The game runs in seasons. Land of the Rising Dragon opened on Oct 9 2026, after the Battle of Nanzhong season that opened in July.
