For Fate War competitive spenders who want to dominate the Apex zone in Vale of Spirits — the PvP event where individual preparation, rally coordination, and Gold spending timing determine whether your investment produces top rewards or gets wasted on losing matchups.
Vale of Spirits is Fate War's premier PvP tournament. Every Chieftain in the Kingdom fights for individual and Faction points across a multi-day event window, competing for some of the best loot available in any Fate War event cycle. Unlike Tribal Showdown's theme-based scoring or Jotunheim's territorial control, Vale of Spirits is direct combat — your hero builds, troop counts, and tactical decisions determine your placement.
At $1,000+/month, Vale of Spirits is where your hero investment and troop depth produce their most visible individual return. The matchmaking system places you in Apex, Elite, or Valiant zones based on your Might, which means you're fighting opponents at a similar investment level.
The players who dominate Apex aren't the ones who spent the most — they're the ones who prepared the most deliberately, deployed resources at the right moments, and understood the scoring mechanics before the event opened.
This guide covers the Vale of Spirits event structure, zone matchmaking strategy, Faction Mode scoring, rally coordination, Gold spending timing, and the troop preservation tactics that produce consistent Apex-zone dominance.
Vale of Spirits is a PvP tournament where Chieftains compete for treasures and points across multiple days. The event features a matchmaking system with three combat zones, and the newer Faction Mode feeds individual performance into a collective Faction score.
Apex is the highest-tier zone for the most powerful Chieftains. Competition is intense, but rewards reflect the challenge. If your Might places you in Apex, you're already at a level where consistent wins are possible with the right preparation.
Elite is the middle tier where the bulk of active invested players compete. This is the most balanced zone — smart troop selection and timing matter more than raw power.
Valiant is the entry-level zone. For competitive spenders, you should be aiming for Apex or Elite. If you're placed in Valiant, your investment hasn't yet converted into enough Might to compete at the level your budget suggests — review your progression framework.
Critical rule: don't push into a higher zone before you're ready. Winning consistently in Elite produces more total rewards than losing consistently in Apex. Play the zone that matches your actual competitive level, not the zone that matches your ambition.
In the updated Vale of Spirits, your individual performance feeds into a collective Faction score. This creates a secondary coordination layer: your Tribe members' individual wins contribute to the Faction total, and the winning Faction earns additional Honor rewards. Faction Mode transforms Vale of Spirits from a pure individual event into a hybrid individual + collective competition.
Vale of Spirits rewards preparation more than reactive spending. The players who dominate Apex prepare in the days before the event, not during it.
Train troops before the event window opens. Speed-ups are the most valuable resource in Fate War, and if Vale of Spirits is coming up, stop using them on everyday building tasks. Deploy training speed-ups in the days before the event to enter with a freshly trained army at maximum troop count. The troop differential between a player who trained in advance and one who enters with whatever they had is measurable in every engagement.
Stage your hero builds for PvP. Ensure your primary carry (Amaterasu) is on Skill + Balanced talent tree, not Siege. Ensure your hero pairings are configured for PvP scenarios, not PvE. Switching talent trees during the event costs Gems and wastes active event time.
Stock Fate War Gold for event-window purchases. Gold spent during Vale of Spirits on troop training, speed-ups, and combat-relevant purchases before the event ends produces measurably better results than Gold sitting idle. Plan your Gold budget for the event window and deploy it on purchases that directly impact your battle performance.
Coordinate Faction assignments with your Tribe. If your Tribe members are split across different Factions, your collective contribution is diluted. Communicate before the event which Faction your Tribe is joining and ensure as many members as possible are aligned for maximum Faction point concentration.
Points in Vale of Spirits are cumulative across all days. A player who participates at medium effort every day will almost always outscope a player who pushes all-in on day one and goes quiet. Consistency wins Vale of Spirits, not spike activity.
Defeat opponents in battle. The primary point source. Focus on clean wins that preserve your troop count. A win that costs you 30% of your army is worse than a win that costs 5% — troop preservation determines how many fights you can sustain across the full event.
Occupy Ruins and Passes. Holding strategic points generates continuous Faction points. Ensure your Tribe maintains a path to the Temple of Judgment to maximize territorial scoring. Rally permissions are restricted to R3+ members to ensure coordinated occupations.
Complete daily participation tasks. Log in and engage with the event each day to hit point thresholds. Even small daily actions compound into significant point totals over the full event window.
Participate in rallies. The rally limit for Temple of Judgment mode was increased in a recent update. Joining or launching rallies against high-value targets earns more points than solo attacks in most cases. Coordinate with your Tribe to hit the same targets together.
Only attack opponents you can beat cleanly. When the Safe Zone timer expires, your base becomes vulnerable. Attacking opponents you can't beat cleanly weakens you for the counterattack. Evaluate your target's troop count and hero lineup before committing. If the matchup isn't favorable, skip it and find a target you can win efficiently.
Time your attacks for when opponents are offline or weakened. The best moments to seize territory or launch heavy attacks are when targets have just fought another player and haven't healed, or when they're offline. Watch the event activity feed and move when your target is vulnerable.
Healing generates points. Healing your own troops after engagements produces event points. Don't neglect healing between fights — it produces scoring value and preserves your troop count for subsequent engagements. Players who heal consistently throughout the event generate a meaningful point supplement that purely offensive players miss.
Don't waste troops on Day 1. The most common mistake in Vale of Spirits is committing your entire army on the first day and having nothing left for the remaining days. Be conservative early, learn the competitive landscape, identify your real opponents, then push hard in the later days when you know who you're actually competing against.
Troop training speed-ups, Gold reserves, hero upgrade materials, and gem packs — at $1,000+/month, the resources deployed during Vale of Spirits represent a significant portion of your monthly investment. How efficiently those resources convert into clean battle wins, Faction point contributions, and Apex-zone rewards determines whether the same monthly spend produces event-leading performance or mid-table results.
