For Fate War competitive spenders investing in Amaterasu as their primary carry — every skill name, exact scaling, talent tree path, and the hero pairings that turn the best hero in the game into an account-defining investment.
Amaterasu is not just the best carry in Fate War. She is the hero that defines the ceiling of your account's offensive capability. Every other hero on your roster performs better or worse as a function of how well Amaterasu is built. A half-invested Amaterasu is a strong hero. A fully invested Amaterasu is a game-warping force that ignores defensive stats, reflects damage back at attackers, and leads any troop type in any game mode.
This guide covers the complete Amaterasu build: all skills with exact scaling, skill upgrade priority order, talent tree paths for different game modes, the hero pairings that maximize her kit, and where she performs across every Fate War event. If Amaterasu is your primary hero investment (and at competitive spending levels, she should be), this is the build path that ensures that investment compounds correctly.
Amaterasu is the first limited event hero released in Fate War and remains the most versatile hero in the game. She was originally introduced during the Rebirth of Glory beta and has maintained her S+ tier position through every meta shift. Her designation as a limited hero means she requires deliberate investment to acquire and upgrade — she's not a hero you stumble into through regular summons.
What makes Amaterasu unique is her troop-type flexibility. Unlike heroes like Erin (cavalry-locked) or Helda (Axethrower-optimized), Amaterasu leads any soldier type effectively. This gives your account roster flexibility that no other carry provides.
Deals a single instance of damage to the current target (base DMG Factor 4,050) and ignores 3% of the enemy's DEF and DMG Reduction. Upgrade scaling: DMG Factor increases to 5,350 / 6,700 / 9,400 / 13,500 at max. DEF and DMG Reduction ignore scales from 3% to 4% / 5% / 7% / 10% at max.
This is the skill that defines Amaterasu. At max investment, Judgment ignores 10% of any defensive stat the enemy has built. Opponents who invested heavily in DEF or DMG Reduction still take near-full damage. In PvP, this makes her the hardest carry to defend against.
Amaterasu and 5 allied Troops receive a blessing, reducing DMG taken by their Troops by 2.5%. Scaling: 2.5% / 3% / 3.5% / 5% / 7% at max. Team-wide defensive buff that most players undervalue. At max, 7% DMG reduction across your entire squad in every fight.
If Troop is in a Rally unit, 50% chance to heal (base Heal Factor 1,440) when taking Burst DMG. Scaling: 1,440 / 1,920 / 2,400 / 3,360 / 4,800 at max. Rally sustain mechanic that keeps Amaterasu in fights past the point where other carries fall.
7.5% chance to ignore current DMG and transfer it to the target (DMG cannot exceed 45% of Troop ATK). Creates one-shot moments in PvP when it sends high-damage attacks back at the attacker. Chance-based but fight-defining when it triggers.
Do NOT follow the recommended skill order in-game. It is not optimized for competitive performance.
Priority 1 — Judgment. DEF and DMG Reduction ignore scaling is the most important upgrade. Every level increases penetrating damage. Max this first.
Priority 2 — Holy Radiance. Team-wide DMG reduction scaling to 7%. Affects your entire squad every fight. Level second.
Priority 3 — God's Blessing. Rally sustain healing from 1,440 to 4,800 Heal Factor. Keeps Amaterasu alive through burst exchanges in rally content. Level third.
Priority 4 — Reflective Light. Probability and damage cap improve but remain chance-based. Upgrade after core skills.
This is the talent tree for 99% of all content. The Skill tree maximizes Judgment damage and passive skill activations. The Balanced tree adds movement speed and versatility for open-field PvP, Jotunheim, Vale of Spirits, and Tribal Showdown Final Day.
Within the Balanced tree, prioritize Rage-related and Attack-related nodes. Rage generation accelerates Judgment cycles. Attack bonuses amplify penetrating damage.
Amaterasu has an unparalleled siege advantage. If you're the designated rally leader for siege operations, go all-in on the Siege tree. This build provides zero value outside siege scenarios. Keep Skill + Balanced as default and only switch for planned siege operations. Talent resets cost Gems.
Amaterasu + Iris (sustain). Iris's healing extends Amaterasu's combat window, giving Reflective Light more activation chances and allowing more Judgment cycles per fight. Primary pairing for open-field PvP and solo engagements.
Amaterasu + Erin (dual DEF-ignore burst). Both heroes bypass enemy DEF through different mechanics. Together they render defensive investment nearly useless. Use for deleting high-DEF targets.
Amaterasu + Reinhardt (buff-amplified carry). Reinhardt's buffs continuously enhance Amaterasu's output while providing his own survivability. Best for Jotunheim and extended rally engagements.
Amaterasu + Kalthas/Vista (rally composition). The debuff/buff engine amplifies Judgment's penetrating damage against enemies simultaneously weakened by Kalthas's debuffs. Maximum-damage rally composition.
Open-field PvP: Amaterasu's primary domain. Judgment's DEF ignore means near-full damage regardless of opponent investment.
Battle for Jotunheim: Troop-type flexibility fills any Tribe position. Pair with Iris for sustained sessions or Reinhardt for rally pushes.
Tribal Showdown Day 6: The PvP day where individual hero power matters most. Amaterasu leads your strongest march.
Vale of Spirits (Apex zone): God's Blessing sustain is particularly valuable in back-to-back fights where troop preservation determines Faction scoring.
Rally offense and siege: Best rally leader in the game when using Siege talent tree.
Garrison: Effective but Yi Sun-sin is the dedicated garrison specialist. Don't lock your best carry in garrison.
Building Amaterasu to max requires sustained Memento acquisition across multiple banner cycles, Starglitter investment, and skill upgrade materials. At $1,000+/month, the total resource volume flowing into your primary carry is substantial. How efficiently those resources convert into competitive hero builds determines whether the same monthly investment produces a leaderboard roster or a collection of half-built heroes that underperform in every event.
