Days of Empire Alliance Guide (2026): Kingdom War and Clash of Twin Thrones

For Days of Empire alliance leaders, officers and members who fight in Kingdom War. Checked November 3, 2026.

Short answer: In Days of Empire, alliances occupy strongholds, plunder resources and fight Kingdom War. The biggest cross-kingdom event is Clash of Twin Thrones, which matches six comparable kingdoms and has run 7 days since May 2026. Leaders should plan around super tiles, the alliance tax, gold mines and the Field of Flames playoffs.

Alliance play is the core of Days of Empire. The official description lists PVP, PVE and Kingdom War on large battlefields, naval battles, and alliances that occupy strongholds and plunder resources. The 2025 and 2026 updates added several rules that change how alliances fight.

Alliance systems that changed recently

The notes name these changes but do not spell out every number. Open the event and alliance screens in game for the current rules.

Clash of Twin Thrones

Clash of Twin Thrones puts six kingdoms of similar strength against each other. Since May 2026 it runs 7 days. A shorter event rewards alliances that are ready on day one, so the planning happens before it starts:

• Agree on rally leaders and who holds which stronghold.
• Fill the troop and healing stock before the first day.
• Set fixed times for the big fights, so members across time zones can show up.

Kingdom War and strongholds

Kingdom War is fought on large battlefields with many troop types. Hero Positions, added in November 2025, give troop-type bonuses, so match heroes to the troop type you march with. Treasures and troop skills added in 2026 push the same way. A clear alliance plan for who runs which troop type makes rallies stronger.

Gold mines and super tiles

Gold mine spawn rules changed twice in 2026. Mines and super tiles are shared alliance income, so leaders should assign who gathers where and protect the gatherers during war days.

Running the alliance

• Use the alliance tax rules. Check the current tax screen after the December 2025 change before you set expectations for members.
• Real-time translation. The game has built-in translation and language chat, so a mixed-language alliance can still coordinate.
• Plan around the monthly update. New troop skills often shift which army is strongest. Read our 2026 updates guide after each patch.

For spenders and alliance leaders

• Healing and training before Clash of Twin Thrones. With only 7 days, there is no time to rebuild mid-event. Buy healing, training and speedup packs before day one.
• Your main troop type. Put treasure and skill upgrades into the troop type you rally with, since Hero Positions reward matching heroes and troops.
• Citadel Level 3. It is the newest top-end goal. Push it in a quiet week, not during the clash, so your speedups do not compete with healing.
