For Where Winds Meet players who want to know which martial arts are worth investing Martial Points and Inner Ways resources into, and which ones will cost you weeks of progression if you choose wrong.
Where Winds Meet lets you carry two martial arts at once and switch freely between them. That flexibility sounds forgiving until you realize that Inner Ways talent trees, Martial Point upgrades, and Refine Arts all require sustained resource investment. Spreading resources across four or five weapons produces a roster of half-built martial arts that underperform in every mode.
The players who dominate PvE boss content, ranked PvP, and co-op raids are the ones who committed early to the right weapon pairing and invested deeply. A fully-upgraded S-tier pairing outperforms a collection of A-tier weapons at half investment every time.
This tier list ranks every martial arts weapon in Where Winds Meet by practical combat performance — PvE and PvP evaluated separately — and identifies which pairings produce the highest return per Martial Point invested.
Before the rankings: understand the system you're investing in. Where Winds Meet separates physical weapons (the item with raw stats like Attack Power and Critical Rate) from weapon martial arts (the moveset, skills, and role). You can carry all weapons you find, but only have two martial arts active — a Primary and a Secondary.
Martial arts are organized into six Arsenal Path categories. Each path determines the weapon's scaling behavior and role. Damage scales through three systems: Inner Ways (talent tree with mechanical breakpoints), Breakthroughs (tied to World Level, caps your cultivation level), and Refine Arts (Martial Points from dailies upgrade skill potency).
This means: choosing a weapon isn't just about how it feels. It's about which martial art you're willing to invest Inner Ways points and Martial Points into for weeks. Wrong choice = wasted progression that takes significant time to redirect.
Soulshade Umbrella. The best support weapon in the game. Swap in, activate healing skills, swap out to deal damage with your other weapon. Echoes of a Thousand Plants provides passive healing that sustains your team without interrupting your DPS rotation. Mandatory for co-op content.
Panacea Fan. The only dedicated healer weapon. Cloudburst Healing and Resurrection make it essential for group content. Starting weapon that remains S-tier through endgame — rare for any game. Invest early, invest deeply.
Nameless Sword. Your starting weapon and one of the strongest DPS options in the game. Excellent mobility, balanced single-target and AoE, projectile heavy attacks for ranged burst. Outperforms the flashier Strategic Sword in most content. Worth deep investment from day one.
Heavenquaker Spear. AoE specialist. Sober Sorrow builds combo meter across multiple enemies; Sweep All scales with active buffs. Exceptional for clearing groups and sustained pressure in extended fights.
Infernal Twinblades. High-damage burst combos with extreme mobility. Glass cannon — relies on Blazing Wrath from late Inner Ways nodes. Requires deep talent tree investment to unlock full potential.
Vernal Umbrella. Longest range in the game. Fix in place for auto-attacks, charged light attack deals damage while airborne. Blossoms passive accumulates resource for special skills. Strong for players who prefer ranged pressure.
Strategic Sword. Flashy and powerful but significantly harder to use than Nameless Sword. Rewards players who master its timing. Loses to Nameless Sword at high-tier Inner Ways according to recent patches.
Mortal Rope Dart. Fast, fluid strikes with a summoned Mighty Rat companion. Solid reach but limited AoE. Better as a secondary weapon than a primary.
Thundercry Blade. Tank weapon. Shield generation based on max HP, powerful charged attacks. Strong for frontline tank builds in co-op but slower than DPS options. Pairs well with Stormbreaker Spear.
Stormbreaker Spear. Defensive support — damage reduction buff and Vulnerable debuff on enemies. Falls behind in solo content but excels as a tank's secondary in group play.
Strategic Sword + Nameless Spear. The current PvP meta. Strategic Sword's burst windows combined with Nameless Spear's pressure creates a DPS pairing that controls fights through spacing and animation management.
Infernal Twinblades + Mortal Rope Dart (Bamboocut-Wind). Extreme mobility and burst damage. Glass cannon that rewards fast reactions and clean execution. Dominates ranked play in skilled hands.
Nameless Sword + Heavenquaker Spear. Versatile and forgiving. Strong all-round performance without the execution ceiling of Twinblades builds.
Everspring Umbrella + Unfettered Rope Dart. Mid-range control with explosive burst combos. Umbrella controls spacing, Rope Dart delivers execution damage.
For PvE mains: Nameless Sword + Soulshade Umbrella (DPS + self-sustain) or Heavenquaker Spear + Panacea Fan (AoE + healing). Both pairings let you clear solo content and contribute to co-op without needing to swap builds.
For PvP mains: Strategic Sword + Nameless Spear (meta burst DPS) or Infernal Twinblades + Mortal Rope Dart (high-skill glass cannon). Commit fully to one pairing — split investment produces mediocre results in ranked play.
For all-rounders: Nameless Sword + Panacea Fan. Both are starting weapons that remain S-tier through endgame. Maximum investment efficiency — you never replace them.
Inner Ways points, Martial Points, and Refine Arts resources all require sustained play and strategic deployment. For players who top up Echo Beads for convenience purchases, stamina refills, and progression packs, the efficiency of those purchases determines how quickly your chosen build reaches its competitive ceiling.

4+ years. 120,000+ orders. Zero bans. Thousands of players across 17+ games.
Nameless Sword for DPS versatility, Panacea Fan for healing, Soulshade Umbrella for support. All three are S-tier and remain strong through endgame. For PvP, Strategic Sword + Nameless Spear is the current meta.
Nameless Sword for most players. It's more versatile, easier to pair, and outperforms Strategic Sword at high-tier Inner Ways after recent patches. Strategic Sword rewards skilled play but has a higher execution ceiling.
Yes, you can switch weapons freely. But Inner Ways talent points and Martial Point upgrades invested in a weapon aren't easily transferred. Switching weapons means rebuilding your talent tree from scratch, which takes weeks.
Where Winds Meet balance patches shift weapon rankings regularly. This tier list reflects performance as of the Hexi patch (early 2026). Spot something that's off? Let us know on Discord, and we'll update it.
