Should you build Quilly in Top War Battle Game?

Yes if you are running the Tank magnetic pulse meta and either do not own Brunhild or want the second magnetic pulse anchor in the same composition. Quilly is a Tank-exclusive non-collab hero that functions as Brunhild 2.0: same magnetic pulse passive, same exclusive skill scaling pattern, with subtle differences in the active skill, HP buff coverage, and stack mechanics. If you already run Brunhild, Quilly's biggest upside is the double-anchor build that pairs both heroes in the same march.

What makes Quilly different from Brunhild?

Quilly and Brunhild are both Tank-exclusive heroes built around magnetic pulse mechanics, and at first glance the kits look near-identical. The differences only matter when you are deciding whether to build one, the other, or both.

HP buff. Quilly gives a 65% HP increase, but only on the front row and only in round 1 of the battle. Brunhild gives 40% HP across the front two rows plus 80% HP on the back row, which holds for the whole fight. Brunhild's HP coverage is broader and more durable. Quilly's is narrower and front-loaded.

Active skill. After every regular attack, Quilly has a chance to trigger 3 attacks dealing 80% damage each. Brunhild instead grants the units in the first two rows a chance to proc 2 hits at 120% damage. Quilly's active is volume-based, Brunhild's is concentrated on her front rows.

Magnetic pulse passive. After regular attacks, Quilly applies 1 stack of 40% magnetic pulse to 2 random slots. Brunhild does the same with 30% magnetic pulse, but only off attacks from the first two rows. Quilly's pulse is slightly stronger and triggers off the whole army.

If you run Brunhild as the primary magnetic pulse anchor, Quilly typically lives at 3-star or 4-star while shards funnel toward Marvy and Binary. Without Brunhild, Quilly is the primary magnetic pulse anchor and gets the 5-star push.

Best Team Formations With Quilly in Top War Battle Game

Quilly belongs in the magnetic pulse Tank composition. The formation builds around three roles: a magnetic pulse applier in the lead slot, magnetic pulse stackers in the middle, and a detonator in the back slot. Quilly is a stacker, which means he sits between the applier and the detonator.

Standard top-tier formation: Marvy + Quilly + Binary

Marvy goes first. She applies the initial magnetic pulses with magnetic pulse runes equipped, which sets up the stacks for the rest of the formation to compound on. Quilly goes second. His passive applies more magnetic pulse stacks, and his active skill (with magnetic runes) procs additional pulses through the 80% × 3 hit volume. Binary goes last. As the detonator, Binary needs the maximum number of magnetic pulse stacks already on the field when she procs, which is why she occupies the final slot. Reverse this order and Binary detonates a half-stacked field that produces a fraction of the rally damage.

Double-anchor formation: Quilly + Brunhild + offense buffer

If you already own Brunhild, the most interesting Quilly use case is running both heroes together. Both apply magnetic pulses, both scale exclusive skill output, and the third slot becomes an offense-buffing hero that can also help deploy magnetic pulses to keep stacks at maximum capacity. Neely is the standard pick here because she combines strong offense buffing with magnetic pulse application speed. Asuka has the application speed but not enough offense buffing to carry the third slot alone.

• Pulse stacking volume. His passive triggers off the whole army's regular attacks rather than just the front two rows, which means he applies magnetic pulses faster than Brunhild during sustained engagements.
• Active skill output. The 80% × 3 hit pattern with level 7's 50% damage boost gives Quilly a higher direct damage ceiling once fully invested.
• Double-anchor compatibility. The most interesting top-tier build is running both Quilly and Brunhild in the same march, which is impossible if you only own one of them.

Where Brunhild wins:
