How the Investment Center Works in The Grand Mafia
The Investment Center is your research building. It operates like a second construction queue — always have something researching. Research projects consume resources (cash, arms, metal, cargo) and time. Speedups can accelerate research, and faction help reduces research timers for free.
The Investment Center contains multiple research trees covering different progression categories. The two that matter most for competitive players are the Crew tree (combat and troop research) and the Economy tree (resource production and building speed).
Each research node has prerequisite nodes that must be completed first. This creates a branching path where early decisions about which branch to prioritize determine how quickly you reach the high-value nodes deeper in each tree.

Early Game (Mansion 1-15): Economy First, Crew Second

Research + VIP: VIP research speed bonuses make every research project complete faster. Higher VIP means your research queue moves faster, which means you reach T4/T5 troops and combat buff nodes sooner. Research + Enforcers: Troop tier research unlocks stronger troops. Higher-ranked enforcers can lead larger crews of those stronger troops. The combination of T5 troops + Grand-tier enforcers with large crew sizes produces formation power that neither system achieves alone.
Research + Crew Composition: Combat buff research nodes are crew-type specific. When your research ATK buff matches your enforcer squad buffs and your troop composition, the three systems multiply together.
