Resident Evil Survival Unit Updates 2026: Gen 5 Heroes, Luminium and Collabs

For Resident Evil Survival Unit players and alliance leaders who want to know what 2026 changed. Checked November 3, 2026.

Short answer: Resident Evil Survival Unit added three hero generations in 2026: Gen 3 in March, Gen 4 in late May and Gen 5 in late August. Other big updates brought the Luminium system, Level 6 B.O.W., a Monster Hunter collab in July, the Total Defense Operation mode, the Attache Case Keyring and the Repel Mortem world boss.

Resident Evil Survival Unit is a real-time strategy game from Capcom, Aniplex and JOYCITY that launched worldwide in November 2025. You restore a mansion, recruit survivors like Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield and Jill Valentine, and fight the infected with your alliance. Every date and feature here comes from the official App Store version history.

2026 update timeline

Hero generations

Heroes arrive in generations. Gen 3 landed in the spring, Gen 4 from May 29 and Gen 5 from August 25. Check each hero's generation in the hero screen before you plan upgrades. Gen 5 came with balance changes to some older heroes, so a lineup that worked in summer may need a second look.

Mansion and Luminium

The Luminium system arrived on March 26 and ties into your mansion. In late August the maximum Mansion Luminium level went up to Lv. 8. Luminium is now one of the main long-term upgrade lines for the mansion.

B.O.W., Treasure and Jewels

Level 6 B.O.W. came in May. From late May a new grade for Treasure and Jewels was added, which raised the ceiling for gear. The Attache Case Keyring system came in August, a nod to the series' famous inventory case.

Collab and new modes

• Monster Hunter collab (July): Slay the Yian Kut-Ku, Slay the Rathalos and Repel the Silver Rathalos events, the "Nice! That looks SO TASTY!" event, a new Companion with a Try Your Luck event, and attendance rewards.
• Total Defense Operation (August): a new mode.
• Repel Mortem (August): a world boss built around Mortem, the creature designed by Yoshitaka Amano.
• New Exploration difficulty (spring): a harder tier for exploring the city.

For spenders and alliance leaders

• Plan around generations. Each new generation came about every two to three months in 2026. If you spend on heroes, decide whether to finish your current generation or save Gems for the next one before you buy.
• Luminium Lv. 8 is the new mansion ceiling. If your mansion is behind, Luminium materials are where growth packs do the most right now.
• Treasure and Jewel grades. The new grade from late May raised the gear ceiling. Check which packs hold Treasure or Jewel materials in your own shop before a world boss week.
• Leaders: Repel Mortem is a world boss and Total Defense Operation is a group mode. Set a time for the alliance, and have members bring their Gen 5 heroes. See the alliance leader page.
