For R5s choosing their officers, and for R4s who want to know what their title is for. Checked October 2026.
Short answer: An alliance has 1 R5 and up to 8 R4s, 10 at Alliance Gifts level 10. The R5 gives four R4s a title: Warlord, Recruiter, Muse or Butler. In Season 6 each title fires one Alliance Skill, and titled R4s get a bigger Marshall's Guard rally bonus. Give titles to people online at war times.
Most alliances hand out R4 to whoever has been around longest. That works until a war day when the person holding the Warlord title is asleep. Below is what each rank and title does, how to assign them, and a weekly schedule your officers can follow. For leadership support from our side, see Packsify for alliance leaders.
Ranks and limits
| Rank | Limit | Usual use |
|---|---|---|
| R5 | 1 | Leader. Sets goals and rules, appoints R4s, gives titles |
| R4 | 8, or 10 at Alliance Gifts level 10 | Officers who run events and help members |
| R3 | No fixed limit | Active core players |
| R2 | No fixed limit | Less active players |
| R1 | No fixed limit | New members still proving themselves |
The alliance cap is 100 members. How R1 to R3 are used is up to each alliance.
What R4s can do
- Change the rank of any member below R4.
- Approve or kick members.
- Start war on villages.
- Start and manage alliance events, like Marshall's Guard and Desert Storm sign-up.
- Move the Alliance Assembly Point.
- Send Alliance Mails, once Alliance Gifts level 5 is reached.
Only the R5 can appoint R4s, give titles and call an alliance assembly.
The four titles
| Title | Job | Season 6 skill |
|---|---|---|
| Warlord | Plans attacks, defense and territory | Serpent Breath (missile on all bases in range) |
| Recruiter | Finds strong players and brings them in | Snake Barrier (shield on your own city) |
| Muse | Keeps morale up and pushes shared goals | Night Army (attacks enemies in an area for 180 seconds) |
| Butler | Welcomes new members and helps them settle | Thunder Feathers (lightning on enemy bases) |
The R5 holds Frog's Gifts and Tranquil Rewind. Last War Tutorial's author says a Butler has no powers beyond a normal R4. In Season 6 the skill and the rally bonus are what set a title apart. More on costs and timing in our alliance guide.
Titles also matter in Marshall's Guard. Rallies from the R5 or a titled R4 get +5%. Rallies from an R4 without a title get +2.5%. So your titled officers should launch, and everyone else should join.
How to assign the titles
- Warlord: your best war caller who is online in your war window. Serpent Breath is the skill you most want ready on Faction Clash day.
- Recruiter: someone who reads chat on other servers and Discord, and who is online the day before war. Snake Barrier is best fired the day before so allies can charge it.
- Muse: a steady, active player close to the front. Night Army stops early if the Muse's base is burned.
- Butler: your friendliest regular. Thunder Feathers opens later in the season, so the Butler has time to learn it.
- Untitled R4s: give them one clear job each: Desert Storm roster, Marshall's Guard launch, VS reminders, kicking inactive players.
Pick by who is online, not by power or spend. A strong player who logs in once a day is a poor Warlord.
Weekly schedule for R4 and R5
| Day | What happens | Who does what |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | Alliance Duel Day 1, Radar and Stamina. Desert Storm sign-up opens | R4 posts the VS plan. Desert Storm R4 starts the roster |
| Tuesday | Duel Day 2, Secret Tasks and Construction. Season 6 Altar Conquest from Week 3 | Warlord runs the Altar roster |
| Wednesday | Duel Day 3, Research and Technology. Desert Storm sign-up closes | Desert Storm R4 locks the roster and time slot |
| Thursday | Duel Day 4, Hero Development. Desert Storm matchups shown | Share the matchup and building plan |
| Friday | Duel Day 5, Total Mobilization. Desert Storm battle | Desert Storm R4 and Warlord call the fight |
| Saturday | Duel Day 6, Enemy Buster, worth 4 Winning Points. Sanctuary Duels in Season 6 Weeks 5 to 7 | Everyone online. R5 holds Tranquil Rewind for this |
| Sunday | No Duel. Review the week | R5 and R4s check activity, promote and demote |
Marshall's Guard comes every 2 to 3 days. Pick one R4 to launch it every time, so it never runs out with no launch.
Keep leadership safe
If the R5 is offline for 24 to 48 hours, leadership moves to an R4 who was online in the last 24 hours, or to an R3 if no R4 was. You cannot pick who gets it. So never leave an inactive R4 in place, and plan a handover before the R5 takes a break. Only the R5 can transfer leadership by hand.
For spenders and R4/R5 leaders
- Titles before war weeks. Fill all four titles before Season 6 Week 3, when Snake Barrier and Night Army open.
- Have a backup for each title. If the Warlord is away on war day, move the title to the backup the day before.
- Big spenders do not need a title. They need to be online on Saturday. A title is a job, not a reward.
- Tell the alliance who holds what. Pin the four names in chat so members know who to ask.
