Quick answer
Desert Storm is a weekly 30-minute battle for the top 32 alliances in a Warzone. Sign-up runs Monday to Wednesday, R4 or R5 picks a time slot, and the fight is on Friday. Each task force has 20 starters and 10 substitutes. Hold the Nuclear Silo, Oil Refineries and Field Hospitals, because the side with most Battlefield Points wins.
For R4s and R5s who sign up and run Desert Storm, and for the players they put in the starting 20. Checked October 2026.

Who can join

  • Only the top 32 alliances by Warzone power, and the alliance must be at least 7 days old.
  • Players need a Lv. 15 or higher base. A new member must wait 24 hours before asking to join.
  • Only R4 and R5 can pick the time and sign up. They accept requests as starters or substitutes. Players who are not picked cannot fight.
  • Each task force takes 20 starters and 10 substitutes, with up to 3 commanders. Two task forces (A and B) means up to 60 members.
  • Only 20 can fight at once per team. A starter uses "Leave Battlefield" to let a substitute in.

After a building is held for 60 seconds, 60% of its points can no longer be taken and 40% can be plundered. Individual Points run at about half the building rate. The side with the most Battlefield Points when the 30 minutes end wins.

A simple plan that works

  1. Start: split the 20 across both Oil Refineries, at least one Field Hospital and the Info Center.
  2. Minute 10: send your heaviest players to the Nuclear Silo the moment it opens. Others take the Arsenal or Mercenary Factory.
  3. Middle: hold what you have long enough to lock the 60%. Use a recon plane before you attack a defended building.
  4. Minute 13 on: Oil Wells are a last resort, worth 5 a second.

Matchmaking uses historical alliance power, so dropping power before the week does not help. The game itself says smaller alliances get better rewards by dropping Task Force B and putting everyone in A.

Common Desert Storm mistakes

  • Starters who do not show up. Only 20 can fight at once, and a missing starter is a missing slot until someone leaves.
  • Substitutes stuck outside. A starter must use Leave Battlefield to free a slot. Tell starters when to swap out.
  • No Field Hospital. Each one heals 15 units every 10 seconds, and the lastwartutorial author says to take at least one.
  • Heavy hitters on Oil Wells. At 5 points a second, they are worth a sixteenth of the Silo.
  • Dropping power to get an easier match. Matchmaking uses historical power, so it does not work.

Rewards

Alliance rewards go to all members by mail, even those who did not fight. Members in a task force also get participation rewards. Personal rewards need at least 10,000 Individual Points and pay one tier. Rewards include Honor Points, speed-ups, resources and decoration chests.

For spenders and R4/R5 leaders

  • The Silo is a spender job. Put your strongest marches on it at minute 10. Their troops, heroes and healing decide the biggest point source on the map.
  • Heal and stock up before Friday. Buy any troop or healing packs during the week, not inside your slot. A pack that lands after the 5-minute prep is too late.
  • Leaders: lock the roster by Wednesday. Pick starters by who shows up, not by power alone. Name the 3 commanders and give each a building. Post the plan in alliance chat on Thursday after matchups.
  • Season 7 change: cpt-hedge's first look adds a Rescue System that gives points for healing teammates' wounded troops, plus faster garrison march speed. Expect healers to matter more.
