Quick answer
Upgrade combat decorations first in Last War, starting with damage reduction, then attack and crit damage. Fan guides say to bring every decoration you want to level 3, then push your best ones higher, because level 3 to 4 costs much more for less gain. Never pick a decoration you already own from a selection chest.
For Last War players who want more stats from their base, and for spenders deciding which decoration packs are worth it. Checked October 31, 2026.

Decorations look like cosmetics. They are not. Each one adds permanent stats to your heroes or your base, and a full set of good ones is one of the quiet differences between two accounts with the same power.

With holiday decorations back in the October check-in rewards, players are asking which ones matter.

How decorations work

You place decorations around your HQ, and each one gives permanent stats. Most UR decorations add hero HP, attack or defense. Some add crit damage, damage reduction or damage to monsters, and a few add economy buffs like construction speed.

Community guides describe decoration upgrades as percentage based, so they scale with the stats you already have. If that holds, a stronger account gets more out of the same upgrade.

What the main UR decorations do

Values grow with level and change with updates, so check each card in your game for the exact numbers. By type:

  • Hero HP, attack or defense: Gold Tank (HP), Golden Missile Vehicle (attack), Gold Bomber (defense), Libertas (all three).
  • Combat extras: Tower of Victory (crit damage and attack), Pumpkin Panic and Military Monument (damage to monsters).
  • Economy: Eternal Pyramid (construction speed), Golden Mobile Squad (more Secret Mobile Squad dispatches and supply boxes).

Which to upgrade first

Creators and fan guides agree on the broad order:

  1. Damage reduction first. Community rankings put damage reduction decorations at the top, with Win in 2025/2026 rated highest for how its damage reduction scales and Torch Relay close behind.
  2. Then skill and crit damage. Easter Egg-sassin (skill damage) and Tower of Victory (attack and crit damage) rank next.
  3. God of Judgment comes up as a top all-round pick, for hero HP, attack, defense and troop capacity.
  4. Economy decorations last if you care about fights. Eternal Pyramid ranks low for combat.

The level 3 rule

The common advice: bring every decoration you want to level 3 first, then push only your best ones to level 4 and up. The jump from 3 to 4 costs much more for a smaller gain. Spreading components early gives more total stats than maxing one decoration.

Upgrades use decoration components, called Universal Decor Components for UR decorations.

Selection chests and the October check-in

Creators report that the Halloween check-in in late October 2026 includes decoration rewards, with a carriage decoration and an SSR selection chest. The usual tip: pick a holiday decoration from the chest, not a normal SSR one you can get anytime. And never pick a decoration you already own.

Players also report in the official Discord that some event items from the check-in, like fireworks, expire after 7 days. Use them before they go.

Common decoration mistakes

  • Maxing one decoration while others sit at level 1.
  • Picking a decoration you already own from a selection chest.
  • Pushing economy decorations when your problem is losing fights.
  • Letting check-in event items expire unused.

For spenders and alliance leaders

For spenders, decorations are one of the few buys that never go away. They are not removed at season end like season buildings. That makes decoration packs and components a safer long-term buy than seasonal resource packs late in a season. Before you buy:

  1. Check what the decoration actually gives on its card. Some look great and give little for combat.
  2. Favor damage reduction and crit damage over raw HP if you fight a lot.
  3. Use the level 3 rule. Buy components to bring several decorations to 3 before you push one to 4.

For leaders: decorations add up across an alliance. Remind members to claim check-in rewards before they expire and to choose holiday decorations from selection chests. Creators also mention top-20 arena decorations, so strong arena players can bring back stats that other members cannot buy. The alliance leader page has more on keeping members on top of events.
