For R4s and R5s who need more active players, and for the recruiter in your alliance. Checked October 2026.
Short answer: The best time to recruit is Transfer Surge, which opens once per season over Week 8 and the first off-season week. A move costs 50 tickets, and the warzone President approves who comes in. Pitch players before Prep Day, then keep them with a clear first week: a rank, a role and a reason to log in.
An alliance holds 100 members, but the number that matters is how many show up on Saturday. Recruiting has two parts: getting strong players in during the one window a season when they can move, and keeping them past their first two weeks. This guide covers both. Transfer Surge: the recruiting window
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| How often | Once per season, from Season 2 on |
| When | Week 8 of the season and Week 1 of the off-season |
| Phases | Prep Day 7 days, Application Day 4 days, Transfer Day 1 day, Display Stage 2 days |
| Cost | 50 transfer tickets |
| Free tickets | 3 a week from the alliance store |
| Ticket packs | 25 for 500 Gold Bricks, 50 for 1,000 Gold Bricks |
| Where to | Only servers in your own server grouping |
| Approval | The warzone President approves. Approval is final |
Transfers happen on the Friday of the second week. An approved player who does not move by hand is moved at reset. cpt-hedge says rumours of a second transfer in the same season are false.
For servers 3 to 164, the Season 7 pre-season starts on November 9 2026, so Season 6 Week 8 is close or already running. Newer servers are later. Check the event in game.
Seat colors and power cutoffs
Each player gets a seat color from their highest historical power, set at the start of Prep Day. It cannot change after that. Each warzone has a limited number of seats per color.
| Warzone standard | White | Blue | Purple | Gold |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Limited Open | 40 | 30 | 3 | 0 |
| Semi Open | 60 | 40 | 5 | 1 |
| Fully Open | Combined points total | 2 | ||
cpt-hedge gives rough Season 6 cutoffs: blue from about 190M, purple from about 270M and gold from about 315M highest power. Cutoffs depend on the other servers in your grouping. The main point for recruiters: purple and gold seats are rare, so the top players you want need a spot agreed with your President early.
Who can move
- Not in any alliance.
- Not the warzone President.
- Not in cross-warzone status.
- All squads in the base.
Tell recruits this up front. A player who forgets to leave their alliance misses the window.
A recruiting plan for the window
- Weeks 5 to 7: build the list. Your Recruiter watches world chat, Discord servers and rankings in your grouping for strong players in alliances that are falling apart.
- Before Prep Day: pitch. Good spots fill fast. Be clear about your server, your Saturday results and what you expect.
- Prep Day: agree seats with your President. The President approves every move. Bring a short list of names and colors.
- Application Day: confirm. Ask each recruit to apply only to your server. Approval is final.
- Transfer Day: invite at once. The first alliance a new player joins has no cooldown on VS points, Excavation Digs or alliance exercise. Make sure that first alliance is yours.
Remind recruits that VS scores do not carry over, and that Desert Storm sign-up closes on Wednesday. A new member must also wait 24 hours before asking to join a Desert Storm team.
Recruiting between windows
cpt-hedge says there is no second transfer in a season, so between windows you recruit from your own server. Watch for alliances that lose their R5 or merge. A short, honest message beats a long list of promises.
Keeping new members
- Give a rank plan. Start at R1 or R2 with a clear rule for R3, for example two full VS weeks.
- Give one job. A Desert Storm slot or a Marshall's Guard rally makes people log in.
- Use the Butler. One welcome message with the rules, the Discord link and the event times.
- Check activity every Sunday. Move quiet players down before they hold a spot an active player needs.
For spenders and R4/R5 leaders
- Plan tickets early, rushing them costs bricks. 3 free tickets a week adds up. A player who waits until Week 8 has to buy most of the 50.
- Power before Prep Day counts. Seat color uses highest power at the start of Prep Day. Growth after that does not change it.
- Leaders: a strong recruit who moves alone is a risk. Recruit pairs or small groups who already play together.
