Short answer: Castle Clash: World Ruler added a new hero almost every month in 2026, from Soulsnare Butterfly in January to Bone Baroness in October. Other big changes: Hero Cards and a full hero skill reset in February, Rift Arena in March, the Wizard of Oz collab for the 13th anniversary in August, and Hero Evolution in October.

Patches also carry balance changes and fixes, so only the headline items are listed. The October notes are split into Official and Classic sections, and we show both.

Some patches in between repeated the notes of the one before, so they are left out.
The changes that matter most
A steady stream of new heroes
Sixteen new heroes are listed across the two sections this year. New heroes are the main Gem sink, so the release rhythm matters for planning. In every month from January to October, the new hero patch landed in the first two weeks.
Hero Cards and Card Packs
February added the Hero Cards mode, and April expanded it with new Card Packs. It is a newer layer of hero progression, so expect more packs tied to it.
Reset All for hero skills
Since February you can reset all of a hero's skills. That takes the fear out of trying a new build, because a bad choice is no longer permanent.
Rift Arena
Rift Arena arrived in March and got changes in May. It sits next to the classic one on one Arena as a second PvP mode.
13th anniversary and the Wizard of Oz collab
August brought the anniversary theme, the Wizard of Oz collab with Terrafica and Dorothy, new town hall and background styles, and four Keepsakes. The Dorothy Statue decoration followed in September.
Hero Evolution
The October Classic notes add Hero Evolution, which unlocks at hero level 180. That puts it at heroes you have already built up, not new pulls.
For spenders and alliance leaders

- Anniversary in August: the 13th anniversary and the Wizard of Oz collab were the big spending window of the year. If the pattern holds, the 14th anniversary lands around the same time next year.
- Hero Evolution: it unlocks at level 180, so it only helps heroes you have already pushed. Put resources into one main hero first.
- Guild leaders: Narcia and the guild modes decide your season. Tell members to save for the heroes your guild needs, not every new release. Our alliance and guild leader page has more.
