We're hiring an Operations Manager | Finance & Payments to build the systems that make every transaction traceable, every chargeback winnable, and every dollar predictable, then scale it into a team that runs without the founders.
Role
This role is about building the back office foundation that lets Packsify scale from where we are today to 3-5x revenue without breaking. You'll own payment operations, finance workflows, and compliance—not as a manager who delegates, but as a builder who creates systems, trains the team, and makes the chaos predictable.
Your job is to make our money flows work like clockwork: payments reconciled daily, disputes won consistently, cash forecasted accurately, and the books closed fast.
This is a player-coach role. You'll execute hands-on for the first 3 months, build systems that others can run, train your team to own daily operations, then focus on optimization and scaling.
If you've scaled payment ops at a startup, live in Stripe dashboards, and want to build the foundation (not inherit someone else's mess), this is your seat.
Responsibilities
Payment Operations (Core Focus)
- Own Stripe, Revolut, and crypto processors end-to-end: deposits, withdrawals, reconciliation, and exceptions.
- Drive dispute management: improve win rates, protect processor relationships, submit evidence fast.
- Implement payment recovery systems: smart retries, backup methods, and decline optimization.
- Optimize processor costs and routing to maximize margin on every transaction.
- Build KYC workflows for high-spend players with automated triggers and high completion rates.
Finance Operations (Foundation)
- Reconcile every transaction daily: match processors to orders, allocate fees, track reserves, update accounting.
- Build and maintain weekly cash forecasting so leadership can make confident spend decisions.
- Track deferred revenue per customer and ensure accurate revenue recognition.
- Close the books fast with clear accruals, clean reports, and audit-ready documentation.
- Enable spend rails: define budget gating rules based on cash position and payback periods.
Systems Building & Training (Scale)
- Create SOPs, templates, and dashboards for all back office processes so they run without you.
- Write technical specs for the dev team on payment system improvements and integrations.
- Train the team to execute daily operations independently within 6 months.
- Build the foundation to hire and lead a 2-person back office team as we scale.
Results
- Payment reliability: Transactions process smoothly, disputes are handled in <48h, processor relationships stay healthy.
- Financial clarity: Every dollar is accounted for, reconciliation is accurate, cash forecasting enables confident decisions.
- Risk control: Chargebacks stay low, dispute win rates improve significantly, KYC completion rates hit targets for high-value players.
- Team autonomy: The team executes daily operations independently, freeing you to focus on optimization and growth.
- Scalable foundation: Systems and processes support 3-5x growth without breaking or requiring constant firefighting.
Requirements
Must-haves:
- 3-5 years hands-on payment operations experience (Stripe required; crypto and Revolut are bonus).
- Proven chargeback management: achieved strong rates and win percentages, with metrics to back it up.
- Built systems from scratch: reconciliation templates, dispute SOPs, KYC workflows, or cash forecasts—AND trained others to use them.
- Finance operations fundamentals: can build reconciliation processes, maintain forecasts, and understand revenue recognition.
- Cross-functional collaboration: worked with product, ops, or growth teams to solve payment and finance challenges.
- AI and automation mindset: daily user of AI tools and automation platforms to streamline operations.
- Startup experience: 2+ years at a fast-moving startup or fintech as an employee (not consultant work).
- Player-coach mentality: comfortable building systems yourself first, then training others to run them.
Bonus points if you have:
- Payment operations experience in gaming, fintech, or stored-value products.
- Implemented smart retry logic, decline recovery flows, or billing cadence optimization.
- Led payment operations directly with founders at high-growth startups.
- Technical skills like Python, SQL, or API integrations with payment processors.
- Experience with Xero, QuickBooks, or similar accounting platforms.
Packsify is not for everyone
This role is NOT a fit if:
- You've never used Stripe, Revolut, or similar processors operationally (not just "managed a team using them").
- You have zero chargeback or dispute management experience.
- You prefer structure, long planning cycles, and corporate processes over startup speed.
- You're a pure manager who wants to delegate from day one instead of building systems yourself first.
- Your experience is only traditional banking, Big 4, or large corporates without startup payment ops background.
- iGaming/betting/casino background only (our gaming commerce disputes are fundamentally different from gambling chargebacks).
This role IS a fit if:
- You've built payment or finance operations systems that others still use after you moved on.
- You live in Stripe dashboards and know payment processors inside and out.
- You've fought chargebacks, improved win rates, and have the metrics to prove it.
- You thrive in fast-moving environments where you build the foundation instead of inheriting someone else's systems.
- You want ownership: build the back office function, then hire and lead your team as we scale.
Location & compensation
- Remote, global, any timezone.
- Base salary: $30-50K USD annually + performance bonus.
- Employment: Full-time, high-impact, full-autonomy.
- Growth path: Build the back office (Year 1) → Hire and lead a 2-person team (Year 2) → Scale into Head of Finance & Operations as Packsify grows.
