Not every team in Marvel Mystic Mayhem needs a banner-exclusive 3-star to work, and it’s not always about having the highest stats or most expensive characters.
The best teams are built around synergy: matching roles, utility, and passive bonuses that actually help you clear harder content faster.
Whether you’re just starting out, rerolling smart, or already stacking up pulls, this guide will help you build team comps that work.
Let’s get into it.
This is the team most players will build naturally in their first few days, and it’s honestly way stronger than it looks.
You’ll unlock Hulk, Sleepwalker, and Lady Bullseye early on through missions and login rewards. They’re all free, and they actually complement each other really well:
You’ve got survivability, healing, and damage: everything you need to cruise through story content and early resource farming.
Lady Bullseye especially pulls weight in boss fights, and Hulk can soak more than you’d expect if you rotate cards well.
Once you’ve pulled a few more characters or completed some events, you’ll likely have access to a wider pool, and that opens up some good early replacements.
Here’s a solid alternative F2P team comp:
• Armor (Defender): Easier to pull than she should be. Taunts, shields, and stuns make her one of the best tanks in the game, even better than Hulk in most PvE setups.
• Psylocke (Striker): Free early on, and great for chasing down priority targets. Her mobility and shield-piercing skills make her useful against minion-spawning enemies or buff casters.
• Misty Knight (Striker): Surprisingly solid DPS unit who can ramp ult charge fast. She stacks Bounty Marks and hits hard if you line up your attacks right. Use her until you land a stronger 3-star unit.
This setup leans more aggressive than the default beginner squad but still gives you enough sustain with Armor’s shielding and some crowd control via Psylocke’s debuffs.
Once you start hitting the right summons, you’ll want to swap out some of those free characters for more powerful ones. This team is built around characters from reroll targets, early banners, and lucky pulls.
Here’s one of the strongest current comps for PvE progression:
• Scarlet Witch (Striker): Top-tier AoE damage, ult chaining, and absurd crit scaling. She deletes waves if built right. Keep her protected and she’ll carry your team hard.
• Emma Frost (Controller): Healer, debuffer, and support rolled into one. She buffs special damage (perfect for Witch), helps control fights, and has great sustain.
• Armor (Defender): Still the go-to tank. Can soak hits and draw aggro with ease, keeping the pressure off your squishier units.
This team’s strength is how well it blends burst damage, sustain, and passive scaling. Emma and Witch also benefit from each other’s passives, with Witch’s ultimate getting stronger when enemies are already debuffed and Emma boosting special damage output overall.
If you pulled Doctor Strange or Juggernaut instead of Emma, they slot in fine too, you just lose a bit of magic synergy but gain more crowd control or frontline durability.
Assembling the best team lineup takes more than just strategy: it takes resources, hero upgrades, and top-tier gear.
Without these, even the best formations won’t reach their full potential.
